Former CAA agent Khan moves to WWE

August 5, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Former CAA agent Nick Khan is leaving the company to become the WWE’s new President & Chief Revenue Officer of WWE according to a report from the Sports Business Journal.

Khan replaces co-Presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson who were let go by the company earlier this year.  At CAA, Khan had a book of business of influential on-air personalities such as Kirk Herbstreit, Colin Cowherd, Mike Greenberg, Jalen Rose and Darren Rovell.  Khan represented the WWE and Top Rank Boxing in their media-rights deals.  His work for the company in securing deals with Fox and USA Network gave McMahon a glimpse of his work product.

Khan is not related to AEW’s Tony Khan but is the brother to TV writer and producer Nahnatchka Khan of ABC “Fresh of the Boat.  She is working on “Young Rock,” an upcoming NBC series about the up and coming years of Dwayne Johnson.

Payout Perspective:

Khan comes in at a challenging time for the WWE.  Its ratings have been described as “soft” meaning comparatively low.  Its NXT property is losing in a ratings battle with AEW and the lack of live events is impacting its business.
