AEW scores big win over NXT

July 23, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

AEW scored a resounding ratings victory on Wednesday as the telecast on TNT drew 845,000 viewers while NXT on the USA network drew 615,000 viewers per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.

AEW was fifth overall in the cable ratings on Wednesday night as it drew 0.32 in the A18-49 demo, 0.20 in F18-49, 0.44 in M18-49, 0.18 in the A18-34, 0.14 in F12-34, 0.19 in M12-34, 0.38 in A25-54 and 0.31 in over 50.

WWE’s NXT was 35th overall in cable ratings drawing 0.17 in A18-49, 0.10 in F18-49, 0.23 in M18-49, 0.08 in A18-34, 0.04 in F12-34, 0.08 in M12-34, 0.20 in A25-54 and 0.33 in over 50.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings reflect a bigger disparity between the young demo as many gravitate to AEW while are departing the WWE.  Only the over 50 category is won by WWE although not by that much.  After three weeks of WWE winning the ratings war, AEW has come back with two strong weeks and this one offered a bigger lead than the previous week.
