AEW pulls ahead of NXT in this week ratings battle

July 16, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

AEW pulled ahead of NXT after three weeks trailing the WWE product as The Fight for the Fallen telecast on TNT drew 788,000 total viewers to NXT’s 631,000.

Notably, both telecasts had competition from the UFC on ESPN as its prelims pulled 434,000 viewers during the 7:00pm to 10:00pm ET times slot which was during the telecasts of both wrestling shows.

AEW drew 0.29 in the A18-49, 0.18 in F18-49, 0.40 in M18-49, 0.16 in A18-34, 0.10 in F12-34, 0.20 in M12-34, 0.35 in A25-54 and 0.30 in over 50. It was the 5th ranked cable program on Wednesday night.

NXT drew 0.14 in the A18-49, F18-49 and M18-49.  It also drew 0.05 in M18-34, 0.09 in F12-34, 0.02 in M12-34, 0.19 in A25-54 and 0.36 in over 50.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings reflect a nice boost in viewership for AEW while NXT fell off this week.  It’s clear that the younger demo is not into the WWE product while the older demo is still pretty consistent.
