NXT wins overall ratings for third week in a row over AEW

July 9, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

NXT won its third straight week in overall ratings against AEW this past Wednesday.  However, AEW earned the victory in the younger age demo once again.

NXT on the USA Network drew 759,000 viewers with 0.20 in the A18-49, 0.15 in the F18-49, 0.26 in the M18-49, 0.11 P18-34, 0.09 in the F12-34, 0.13 in the M12-34, 0.22 in the A25-54 and 0.39 in over 50.  Notably, NXT dropped from 13th in overall cable ratings last week to 24th this week.

AEW on TNT drew 0.28 in the A18-49 demo, 0.17 F18-49, 0.39 in M18-49, 0.19 for A18-34, 0.11 in F12-34, 0.21 in M12-34, 0.32 in A25-54 and 0.27 in over 50.

Ratings according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily

Payout Perspective:

Both telecasts were finishing out their two-week events.  NXT has pulled ahead with more of the over 50 audience tuning in as well as a nice share in the M18-49. Even though AEW holds the lead in most of the younger target demos, we are seeing NXT eek out overall ratings victories.
