Top Rank Boxing draws 311,000 viewers on Thursday

June 12, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Top Rank Boxing returned to live action with a pair of cards this week airing on ESPN.  The ratings were less than stellar with Tuesday’s event drawing 397,000 viewers and last night’s event drawing an average of 311,000 viewers.

Shakur Stevenson headlined Tuesday’s event with an easy victory against Felix Caraballo.  On Thursday, Jessie Magdaleno earned a victory over Yenifel Vicente after the was disqualified for repeated low blows.

The return for Top Rank Boxing took place in Las Vegas where restrictions were eased in the state and casinos returned after several weeks’ shutdown due to the pandemic.

Payout Perspective:

One has to admit that Tuesday’s fights were not very competitive but Thursday had some good fights.  The fact that Top Rank could not get over 400,000 viewers for either event has to be a concern especially at a time when people are itching for live sports.
