Nunes top UFC 250 payouts

June 9, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Nevada Athletic Commission disclosed the fighter pay from this past Saturday’s event in Las Vegas.  Amanda Nunes led the way with $350,000 plus another $100,000 for her dominating win against Felicia Spencer.

Spencer, the challenger to Nunes’ 145-pound title drew $125,000.  She would have made another $75K if she would have pulled off the upset.

Per the NAC, the other payouts are as follows:

Cody Garbrandt:  $130K/$130K *$50K bonus

Raphael Assuncao:  $79K

Aljamain Sterling:  $76K/$76K *$50K bonus

Cory Sandhagen:  $80K

Neil Magny  $79K/$79K

Anthony Martin  $48K

Sean O’Malley $40K/$40K *$50K bonus

Eddie Wineland  $46K

Alex Caceres  $58K/$58K

Chase Hooper  $27K

Ian Heinisch  $40K/$40K

Gerald Meerschaert  $33K

Cody Stamann  $36K/$36K

Brian Kelleher  $33K

Maki Ptolo  $10K/$10K

Charles Byrd, Jr.  $12K

Alexander Perez  $40K/$40K *$50K bonus

Jussier Formiga  $49K

Devin Clark  $48K/$48K

Alonzo Minifield  $14K

Herbert Burns  $12K/$12K

Evan Dunham  $60K

Payout Perspective:

No fight of the night this week although all 4 bonus winners deserved the extra $50K.  Nunes’ pay is not on par with the male champs that receive a flat $500K for a title defense.  Also, even with Nunes victory, she only made $450K which is $50K short of the males.  Even if PPV upside was included in her contract, one would think that ensuring the money up front is better than the unknown of a buy rate.  Keep an eye on O’Malley’s pay next time it is reported as he seemed to infer in his post-fight interview that he wanted to renegotiate his deal like he was supposed to prior to this fight.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
