Conor McGregor has retired once again according to a social media post on Sunday night. This is the third time that he’s said he’s done via twitter.
McGregor posted on Saturday night after UFC 250.
Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting.

Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been!

Notably, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. responded to McGregor’s post by mocking him. “Now you’re quitting! I thought you wanted to beat the best? Well, if you decide to come back, I will be waiting to punish you again,” said Mayweather to the ever-present TMZ Sports.
Payout Perspective:
Spoiler alert. McGregor is not retiring; he just wants some attention. The bad news for the UFC is that its likely he’s attempting to negotiate for more money with the company. UFC Fight Island is scheduled to begin in June which is mainly being put together for international fighters. Without confirmation, one has to believe the UFC wanted McGregor to headline a card on Fight Island this summer. White claimed that McGregor was interested in it. We will see how long this retirement lasts. Obviously, if he sits out for the rest of 2020 it would significantly impact the UFC.
