AEW 730K, NXT 715K

June 4, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

AEW Dynamite on TNT drew 730,000 viewers on Wednesday night followed closely behind NXT on the USA network which drew 715,000.

AEW drew 0.29 in the A18-49 demo, 0.37 in the M18-49 demo, 0.33 in the A25-54 and 0.27 in the over 50.  NXT on USA drew 0.20 in the A18-49 demo, 0.25 in the M18-49 demo, 0.23 in the A25-54 demo and 0.35 in the over 50 category.

Notably, NXT was down 16,000 viewers from last week but AEW fell almost 100,000 viewers from last week.  As is the case in comparison, AEW skews to the younger audience while NXT owns the over 50 category.

Payout Perspective:

The recent unrest in the U.S. over the protests over the killing of George Floyd likely took away viewers this week as AEW fell to the 27th watched television show on cable on Wednesday while WWE’s NXT landed at 45.  The top 5 shows on cable on Wednesday were news-related programming.  The ratings may be a concern for AEW as its big angle involving Mike Tyson was revealed last week and the follow-up did not hold viewers.
