UFC Fight Night Vegas on Saturday night drew 1.021 million viewers according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily. In addition, the prelims drew 615,000 on the ESPN prior to the main card.
The event featured Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns in a battle of middleweights. Burns soundly defeated the former champion in a 5 round dominant performance.
The Prelims featured women’s flyweight Katlyn Chookagian as she faced Antonina Shevchenko. Chookagian took out some revenge over Shevchenko after she last dropped her title shot against her younger sister Valentina Shevchenko. Chookagian earned a unanimous decision victory.
The events took place without fans at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas after the state cleared the way for combat sports to return to the state.
The event drew 0.52 in the A18-49 demo, 0.63 in the M18-49 demo, 0.51 in the A25-54 and 0.35 with over 50. The prelims breakdown showed 0.22 in the A18-49 demo, 0.33 in the M18-49 demo, 0.27 in the A25-54 and 0.24 in the over 50 category.
Payout Perspective:
The ratings are slightly down from the May 16th event in Jacksonville held on a Saturday night which drew 1.198M for the main card and another 690,000 for the prelims. The breakdown in demos shows that Saturday night’s event did a scant better than the May 16th show (0.52 vs. 0.50) otherwise viewership was down this past Saturday.
