NXT 693K, AEW 692,000

April 10, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

NXT on USA surpassed AEW Dynamite on TNT for the first time in 2020 according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  NXT drew 693,000 viewers while AEW drew 692,000 viewers.

Despite losing the overall viewership, AEW still had a stronger household rating (A18-49) at 0.26 while WWE pulled in 0.19.  ADW drew 0.35 in the M18-49 demo 0.30 in the 25-54 demo and 0.29 in the over 50 categories.

Payout Perspective:

The lack of live fans is hurting the viewership for these telecasts.  NXT had a “Takeover” type telecast yet barely drew better than a regular AEW-type show.  The ratings continue to be in a downward spiral since the changes needed due to the pandemic.  With AEW having taped its final shows for a while over the next couple weeks, it will be interesting to see what will happen in May going forward.
