Bellator postpones 3 events in May

March 31, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Bellator announced on Monday that it was postponing three of its events in May due to Covid-19.

Through a press release, Bellator announced the postponement of Bellator 242 which was scheduled to occur May 9th in San Jose, Bellator European Series London a week later on May 16th in London and Bellator 243 in Temecula which was to occur in May 29th.

“As always, the health and safety of our athletes, fans, partners and staff remains our top priority,” read the Bellator MMA Statement on the decision.

Payout Perspective:

The announcement is a sobering reality to many MMA and sports fans that due to the global pandemic, the health and safety of the promotion’s employees, fans and fighters are a priority.  There was no mention of the fighters that were scheduled for this card would be compensated.  It was reported that fighters were paid for a postponed March 13th event at the Mohegan Sun Arena.  Yet, with the announcement over a month out from the event, its not known at this point whether the fighters here would be paid.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
