WWE Friday Night Smackdown averages 2.56M viewers with Gronk debut

March 21, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Friday Night Smackdown on Fox drew an average of 2.56 million viewers on Friday night per Nielsen according to ShowBuzz Daily.

The telecast drew 2.637 million viewers in the first hour and 2.488 million viewers in the second.  The show featured the debut of Rob Gronkowski. The former NFL tight end for the New England Patriots will be a part of the Wrestlemania broadcast this year that will take place without fans and at multiple sites.

Smackdown drew 0.8 in the A18-49 demo and a 5 share overall.  In the second hour, the telecast dropped to 0.7 in the A18-49 demo.

Payout Perspective:

The rating average is on par with the average for 2020.  Friday night saw ABC’s Shark Tank draw 5.9 million viewers which overthrew the CBS run of winning Friday nights.
