Will Coronavirus scare hurt UFC 248 gate?

March 6, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 248 takes place this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Thus far, the ticket sales for this weekend’s fight may be slowed due in fact to the Coronavirus.

According to SeatGeek, as of yesterday the get-in price was $125 which was down 14 percent from the past week.  But, a look at AXS Tickets online and you can find tickets in the upper bowl available for $100.  Obviously, on the secondary market, there may be a chance to find better deals with better seats.

For those wanting to sell their tickets, the average resale price was $304 a ticket which is down 19 percent over the last 10 events.

Payout Perspective:

Notwithstanding two title fights on the line on Saturday, this is going to be a tough sell.  With the Coronavirus scare cancelling events, the clamor for tickets for UFC 248 is just not there.  We will see how the crowd will look for this Saturday’s card but I would suspect it won’t be one of the smallest in recent memory.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
