SmackDown holds male demo, averages 2.48M viewers Friday

February 17, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Smackdown drew an average of 2.48 million viewers over the course of its two hour time slot per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  It still drew well in the male 18-49 demo as the first hour had the highest viewership over any telecast across the networks.

In the first hour, SmackDown drew 2.521 million viewers.  It drew a 6 share in the Men 18-49 demo and 0.7 in the A18-49 demo.  In the second hour it lost viewers drawing 2.442 million viewers and a 5 share in the M18-49 demo.  It maintained its adult demo with 0.7.

CBS ruled the night as is standard with MacGyver drawing 5.81 million viewers in the 8pm slot and Hawaii Five-O drawing 6.88 million viewers in the 9pm slot.  Notably, a rerun of the Charlie Brown Valentine special drew 2.73 million viewers in the 8-9pm slot.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings are starting to inch toward the 2.5 million viewer average which is pretty solid despite being lower than what most expected.  The good news is that WWE is still taking in the male demo on Friday nights.  It fell back in the overall adult demo but is still competitive.
