Ticket demand biggest since UFC 229 per SeatGeek

January 14, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Despite Conor McGregor’s troubles outside of the UFC, he is still a big draw.  According to SeatGeek, the ticket demand for the event has been at its highest since McGregor’s last fight at UFC 229.

The get-in price for McGregor’s return to the Octagon against Donald Cerrone is $326.  The average ticket price is $788 and is 74 percent more than December’s UFC 245.  The last time ticket demand in North America was this strong, it was for October 2018’s showdown between Khabib Nurmogomedov and McGregor.  Ticket averages on the secondary market skyrocketed to an average of $1,205.

The minimum ticket price as of 10 am PT was $326 according to the secondary market ticket seller.  Notably, ticket prices have dropped 33% in the past two weeks.

On the primary ticket market, AXS TV still shows a smattering of seats available with floor seats near the Octagon going for $8,000 apiece.

Payout Perspective:

Conor McGregor is still a draw and despite what many believe about his legal troubles and any personal issues he may or may not have had, fans still want to see him. Even if fight week is a little less frenetic as previous McGregor events, its still seems as though there are still people wanting to see him in the Octagon.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
