AEW draws 967,000 viewers on New Year’s Day

January 3, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

All Elite Wresting’s Dynamite drew 967,000 viewers on New Year’s Eve Night according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  WWE’s NXT on USA drew 548,000 viewers although it was a replay show of some of the top moments from 2019.

AEW drew 967,000 viewers and 0.36 in the A18-49 demo and 0.52 in the M18-49 demo.  It also drew 0.41 and 0.39 in the A15-54 and over 50 category respectively.

NXT on the USA Network drew 548,000 viewers and 0.15 in the A18-49 demo.

Payout Perspective:

A good way to kickoff the new year for AEW as it builds on its late 2019 start.  It seems as though the broadcast and production has listened to feedback and made some tweaks.  It will be interesting to see how it does going forward when NXT returns next Wednesday.  The viewership is good considering it could have got lost with the amount of bowl games on during the day.
