WWE Smackdown draws 2.493M in first hour, 2.336M in second

December 21, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Smackdown on Friday night drew an average of 2.41M viewers on Fox according to Television By Numbers.  It stayed strong in the A18-49 demo with a 0.7 rating and an overall 4 share of the television audience tuned in.

The telecast drew 2.493 million viewers in the first hour and 2.336 million in the second hour according to ShowBuzz Daily.  WWE drew a 0.7 in the A18-49 demo and a 0.9 in the A25-54 demo.  It dropped off in the second hour for A25-54 to 0.8.  The showings in the demos topped all network telecasts for the night.

CBS still ruled the evening for the networks despite having special programming.  A special I Love Lucy Christmas drew 4.89M viewers in the first hour opposite Smackdown.  In the second hour a Magnum P.I. rerun drew 3.82 million viewers.

Payout Perspective:

A fairly good evening for Smackdown as it did better in the first hour than NBC’s programming.  It then fell back behind NBC in the second hour.  Certainly, the second hour is showing vulnerability as viewership is decreasing instead of increasing.
