NXT wins last Wednesday Night Wars of 2019

December 20, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

NXT on the USA Network won the last Wednesday night wars of 2019 with 795,000 viewers.  AEW Dynamite on TNT drew 683,000 viewers.

The two competing shows ended up in a virtual time last week with 787,000 viewers.

This time, NXT had a stronger show overall with a big match bookending the beginning and end of the telecast this week.  AEW was strong in the ratings as well but it didn’t match up to the WWE.

NXT won the key demo against AEW in A18-49 (.27 to .25) although AEW won M18-49 (.34 to .31).

Payout Perspective:

While AEW has held on to its younger demo of males, it has become apparent that the brand has gained loyalty based on the backstory of the build of the company and not on the current content.  As the WWE does when faced with competition, it rises to the occasion.  It has more resources and talent.  We shall see how 2020 does for each company.
