Jones, Woodley earn $500K paydays for UFC 235

March 2, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Nevada State Athletic Commission disclosed the salaries for the main card on Saturday night.  Jon Jones and Tyron Woodley top the card with $500,000 paydays.

Jones’ challenger for the Light Heavyweight Championship, Anthony Smith, will make $350,000.  Woodley’s challenger, Kamru Usman also gets $350,000.

Robbie Lawler will make $200,000 and another $100,000 if he wins.  Ben Askren has a similar deal except he will make $200,000 to show and another $150,000 for winning. Also, Cody Garbrandt will make $130,000 to show and another $130,000 for winning against Pedro Munhoz tonight.

Via LA Times’ Lance Pugmire:

Guaranteed purses for #UFC235: @JonnyBones and @TWooodley $500k each, @lionheartasmith and @USMAN84kg $350k each, @Benaskren $200k plus $150k with a win and @Ruthless_RL $200k plus $100k with win.

Payout Perspective:

We could be seeing a new trend for payouts for champs and challengers.  But the most of the main card seems top-heavy with the salaries as 7 of the 10 main card fighters are guaranteed six figure paydays.
