HBO Boxing’s penultimate telecast peaks at 537,000 viewers

November 28, 2018 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

HBO Boxing’s event Saturday night drew 467,000 viewers for its main event featuring Dmitry Bivol as he defeated Jean Pascal.  The fight peaked at 537,000 viewers per Nielsen.

In the penultimate telecast for HBO boxing, Murodjon Akhmadaliev defeated Isaac Zarate by 9th round TKO in the opener.  Akhmadeliev’s victory drew 405,000 viewers and peaked at 440,000.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings were slightly lower than previous telecasts but that is one of the likely reasons HBO is leaving the space.  With Fury-Wilder happening this weekend on Showtime PPV, it seems that this event was overlooked.
