Topps announces special edition May-Mac cards

August 22, 2017 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Trading card maker Topps is coming up with special cards commemorating the August 26th fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.  The limited-edition cards retail for $24.99.

The special “On-Demand” set is available on its web site.  Each set contains 20 cards depicting press conferences, training sessions and other moments.  It will also have a set specifically geared for the weigh-ins which, we assume, will be available immediately after the weigh-ins.

Sports Business Journal also reports that Varsity Brands deivision of BSN Sports will debut a “Conor McGregor Punch & Crunch Experience,” which is a vending machine featuring McGregor’s voice which will dispense a full-size Syntha Crisp bar.  The machines will be outside the Tropicana Casino for those visiting for the fight this weekend.

Payout Perspective:

The hype is here and brands are taking advantage of Saturday’s fight.  The trading cards are one of the cheaper memorabilia items that fans might partake in along with t-shirts, hats, etc.  Topps has made the cards exclusive as it is printing only based on demand.
