TUF 24 Episode 8 draws 255,000 viewers

November 3, 2016 by Jason Cruz 4 Comments

The Ultimate Fighter 24 episode 8 drew an overnight rating of 255,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night per Sports TV Ratings.  The rating is the lowest of the season but went up against Game 7 of The World Series.

The game between the Indians and Cubs on Fox scored over 40 million viewers in overnight ratings.

TUF drew 132,000 in the A18-49 demo per Sports TV Ratings.

On the fight of the show, Aleandre Pantoja defeated Kai Kara-France via unanimous decision.

episode-8 episode-8 Payout Perspective:

Not the best of circumstances for TUF viewing as it was coming off of a week off and then had to compete with Game 7 of The World Series with many wanting to see the Cubs win it all.  The World Series was the most-watched World Series Game 7 since 1991.  While we should see an uptick with the DVR ratings the layoff and baseball likely hurt the ratings.

40m viewers for the World Series….when you see ratings like that for NFL, MLB, NBA, etc it lets you know what a mainstream sport really is and how combat sports are well out of the norm of the mainstream.
Anyway, horrible numbers for a series that looks to be several seasons past its best…no wonder the new owners cut the budget considerably.
