World Series of Fighting 30 drew an average viewership of 158,000 on NBC Sports Network on Saturday night according to Sports TV Ratings.
The ratings reflect a drop from the March show. However, this event aired later at night for the east coast as it had an 8:30PT start time on NBC Sports Network and did not end until past 10:30PT (1:30amET). The event featured David Branch defending his middleweight title against Clifford Starks. It also saw Jon Fitch win the vacant WSOF welterweight championship.

Payout Perspective:
The late start was the likely reason for the decrease in ratings. While the NCAA had its two national semifinal games on television, it did not come into opposition with the WSOF event.

Boxing on trutv does better than this.

No it doesn’t. It does worse. Cable ratings on boxing are awful. I already proved Bellator destroys PBC’s elite with has beens and no namers. Pathetic.
Wil says
Horrible ratings for WSOF, but as long as they have their endorsements, business as usual. Having combat sports on NBC Sports seems to be a death sentence. WSOF needs to look into another network and much better advertising.
The Greatest says
Trutv boxing did around 300k+ on average for their shows.
Boxing wins again

The Greatest, those are poor ratings as well though. truTV didnt work out well for Arum, which is why he was on the market for a new network for that Metro PCS series. Arum really made his own bed though, he, Golden Boy, and Main Events all have that “dont give it away for free” mindset when it comes to boxing and that is the wrong answer. HBO just needs to up its schedule and make more use of the BAD show along with its Championship Boxing series. Not sure NBC Sports or CBS Sports would be that much better for Top Rank.

No they don’t, they do less. You make figures up and then act silly.
Panama says
I’m very surprised that WSOF was able to afford to pay David Branch $130,000 for his win at WSOF 30. That amount is almost the same amount as the viewership.
WSOF’s average ratings as a whole have been consistently dismal. They’re production is shotty and are still very small time.
Then again I said this about Bellator several years ago that they’re crappy compared to the UFC and Strikeforce. A distant #3. Now look at Bellator, then again it took the man who ran Strikeforce to pull them out of the dumps.
WSOF is on par with Legacy and RFA.
Wil says
Panama, off subject but man do I miss Strikeforce…excellent promotion that was, excellent fights, the fighters were motivated, and many of the big names in the UFC came from it. Sure do miss watching it on Showtime. Pride and Strikeforce were the epitome of mma for me.
