Payout Perspective:
Strong ratings for Kovalev which is a good sign that he is a potential headliner for future events and possibly PPV. But, will Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson ever fight? Or, will it be possible that Kovalev face Andre Ward? It may not matter because Kovalev provides strong ratings on HBO whenever he is fighting.

1.27M.
Good numbers

Kovalev is an exciting boxer…aggressive with k.o. power

Jason: You mean Jean Pascal, not Jean Pascual.

Good numbers on HBO. That’s a solid showing (ratings wise) for Kovalev. A fight with Andre Ward could be really big.

More big UFC fights being added!
Chris says
Really hope they can work it out for him to fight Adonis. Ward would also be good but put aside the bullshit and get the Adonis fight done so we can once and for all crown the undisputed LHW champ of the world.

Ward is gonna beat Kovalev in the fall.

Uh oh Fury-Klitschko II could happen in Croke Park, Dublin. Dublin said who’s Mcgregor?
A Sheik in Dubai offered $120M to have the rematch on his private yacht, saying his yacht holds 120 people and he would charge $1M per ticket.
Why no offers like that for the UFC?
d says
If McGregor fought in Croke Park, it would sell out in minutes and the fight would make at least 5x what Klitschko-Fury II would make. To even compare the two is absurd. McGregor is one of the two top draws in combat sports, the other being Rousey. Boxers can’t draw that type of interest anymore. Haha.
You should stop listening to rumors, not to mention if it were true it wouldn’t be for profit, it would just be for entertainment by someone who has no idea how to spend his money. By the way, a bunch of Arabs from the UAE invested are part owners in the UFC, not any boxing promotion.
The Greatest says
D your panicking again.
McGregor isn’t even popular in Ireland, while Fury is.
Klitschko gets more viewers and makes more money than McGregor and Rousey combined.
Pacquiao, Canelo, Klitschko are the biggest combat stars on the planet now that Mayweather retired.
I mean technically Juan Manuel Marquez is a bigger star than McGregor or Rousey is.
He averages like 25M+ viewers a fight in Mexico, i think he had one that did like 35M. He makes about $6
The Greatest says
Marquez makes about $3M-6M a fight. He made about $2M for his last one vs Alvarado two years ago at the time that Ronda was making a whooping guaranteed $60k.
So no McGregor and Rousey are no where near the biggest draws in combat sports.
They are on like a Keith Thurman level.
d says
The panic occurring is coming from the direction of the guy who is spinning the horrible news going on with boxing, while ignoring the major success coming from mma.
McGregor is the biggest combat sports star in Ireland by far right now. He could sell out any venue there in minutes, Fury would be lucky to sell out any venue and wouldn’t do nearly the gate. McGregor is so much more popular there, you even bringing that comparison up proves how delusional you are.
Klitschko likely makes less money on average than both Rousey and McGregor who are the two biggest stars in combat sports now- Mayweather’s last fight proved he actually can’t even outdraw Rousey and McGregor anymore if he came out of retirement. Boxing has taken a huge drop off in interest in both tv and ppv.
Werdum is a bigger star than Marquez. Haha. Marquez can’t even headline a ppv. Marquez also does not make anywhere near 6m per fight. No boxer does unless they fight on ppv which Marquez typically does not. His average fights usually pay him around 2m as you pointed out with his last fight Alvarado. You make things up like no one I’ve ever seen. Rousey makes at least double what Marquez makes right now.
Keith Thurman is less of a draw than Demetrious Johnson. Matter of fact, there are a number of UFC non ppv, non title holders that fight on tv exclusively who are bigger draws than Thurman. Rousey/McGregor #1 and #2!! HAHAHA!!!
d says
By the way, the guys who manage the hedge fund that invested in PBC…their first choice of investment for combat sports was the UFC. PBC was second, maybe third. HAHAHA!!!
The Greatest says
Go ahead and add Klitschkos last 10 fight purses and then go add Rouseys and Conors and tell me who comes out on top.
Also Carl Frampton did better viewership in Ireland than Conor did.
d says
Go ahead and add up Klitschko’s last 10 ppv point payouts and then add up nearly any UFC ppv headliners and tell me who comes out on top.
Why on Earth do you continue to lie like this?
McGregor could do an appearance(not even a fight) in Ireland and draw more than any boxer who had a fight there. It isn’t even close.
The Greatest says
How of those UFC ppv headliners cracked the Forbes top 100 paid athletes?
How many times does Klitschko crack the list?

d says
How many times are you going to double post?
Oh and Klitschko cracked it because of his endorsement contracts and various other streams of income. Not from his fights which generate less than low level ufc ppvs.
The Greatest says
No its mostly from his fights, with some from endorsements of course, but his fight purses are higher than any UFC fighters and higher than most boxers.
I didn’t double post last time. I forgot to add the word *many too my post.
The other double posts, i have no idea why they are happening.
d says
You should really stop making things up, all you would have to do is look at his contracts and you would see more than 50% of what he earns is from endorsements, etc and he does not make more money than the top two draws in combat sports: McGregor and Rousey. Not to mention of course, he is 40 and probably going to retire shortly.

Klitschko earned a $18M fight purse to fight Fury and then an additional $5M from sponsorships and international ppv sales bringing the total to $23M. Fury collected $5.5M.
Klitschko also earned $18M to fight Povetkin. Povetkin earned $5.83M. Povetkin makes more than any UFC fighter.

Jimmy 2x, your numbers are exaggerated lies other than the Povetkin purse which was a Russian billionaire sponsor fight, ie, he overpaid for the bout by at least 3x its worth. K2 promotions-Klitschko’s promotion bid 7.1m for the fight, just to get an idea of what it was actually worth. Klitschko normally was making around 2-5m per fight.
d says
McGregor & Rousey #1 and #2 draws in combat sports. HAHAHA!!!
The Greatest says
I dont care if they gave Klitschko $100M for the fight. If they pay him that amount then thats what he made.
I can simply say “Oh Conor made $2M for his fight, well hes overpaid, he normally makes $50K a fight” which is true because hes only been making bigger paydays his last couple fights.
Klitschko and David Haye each made $22.5M when they fought each other in 2011.
Klitschko had a fight purse of $5M when he beat Pulev, and that was considered a very low purse for him, which would be bigger than any UFC purse.
He made $12M to fight lepai.
HBO paid 3M for the rights to show Klitschko-Jennings.
Conor and Housey arent even in the conversation.
d says
“I dont care if they gave Klitschko $100M for the fight. If they pay him that amount then thats what he made.”
The point was, which you failed to realize in that it wasn’t what he makes on a consistent basis. He made that money one time. That’s it. He’s also made less than 1m for fights in the past. Do you want to bring those up?
“Klitschko and David Haye each made $22.5M when they fought each other in 2011.”
This is nothing short of a flat out lie. They made nowhere near that. Klitschko’s biggest payout ever was the Povetkin fight. His manager confirmed this.
“I can simply say “Oh Conor made $2M for his fight, well hes overpaid, he normally makes $50K a fight” which is true because hes only been making bigger paydays his last couple fights.”
No, McGregor doesn’t normally make 50k per fight. He makes millions and he will continue for a number of fights in the future. You can’t see the difference between the two because you are delusional.
“Klitschko had a fight purse of $5M when he beat Pulev, and that was considered a very low purse for him, which would be bigger than any UFC purse.”
More lies, not to mention Klitschko makes less money in ppv than any UFC ppv fighter who hits their goals, which is the majority of champs including guys like DC and Lawler.
“He made $12M to fight lepai.”
More lies.
“HBO paid 3M for the rights to show Klitschko-Jennings.”
This was split up between all the fighters on the card plus the promoters.
FOX pays out a few million per ufc on FOX and FS1.
“Conor and Housey arent even in the conversation.”
Right, because they are ppv stars and make more money than he does typically per fight.
