UFC 195 Prelims draw 1.032M viewers

January 6, 2016 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC 195 Prelims drew an average viewership of 1.032M on FS1 Saturday afternoon per Sports TV Ratings.  The rating narrowly bests last year’s New Year’s PPV from UFC 182.

The fight of the prelims featured the return of Michael McDonald as the bantamweight submitted Masanori Kanehara.

The event aired from 8-10pm ET on FS1.  It was second in its time slot for sports cable TV ratings as the Alamo Bowl on ESPN between Oregon and TCU drew 7.4M viewers from 7-11pm ET.

In other ratings, the prefight show on FS1 drew 252,000 viewers and the post-fight show (12:40am-2:00am) on FS1 drew 152,000 viewers.

Also of note, Friday UFC weigh-ins airing from 7:00-8:00 ET on FS1 drew 176,000 viewers.

Payout Perspective:

Last year’s UFC 182 Prelims drew 1.030M viewers, a nearly identical number to this year’s prelims.  Will this year’s show draw 800,000 PPV buys like 182?  Unlikely, but the amount of viewership for the prelims may make me recalibrate (predicted 375-400K) what the actual PPV buy rate may be for 195.
