World Series of Fighting unveiled a new logo on Monday as well as the opening of a Manhattan-based corporate office set to open in January.
The opening of the New York office hedges on the belief that a bill to legalize MMA will finally be passed in Albany and the governor would sign it into law. In the alternative, there is the UFC’s preliminary injunction request which is in the midst of briefing with the anticipation that the U.S. District Court would make a decision on the issue prior to the April 23, 2016 date of UFC 198 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
An explanation of the new logo per the press release:
Capped with a three pronged crown, the new logo was created to enhance World Series of Fighting’s ability to visually connect with its rapidly expanding fan base, and to communicate its mission to maintain and promote authentic world champions and a qualified system of rankings for the athletes competing in eight different weight divisions.
Payout Perspective:
Despite its out of the cage issues, WSOF appears ready to expand. The opening of the New York office and the investment in a new logo reflect the fact that the company continues to operate despite legal and internal issues related to ownership interests as well as concerns over Ali Abdelaziz potentially breaking NAC rules.
