Rousey most-searched athlete of 2015 per Yahoo

December 4, 2015 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Ronda Rousey was the most searched active athlete for 2015 according to Yahoo.  In its year-end review, the search engine announced its findings earlier this week.

Skier Lindsay Vonn, Maria Sharapova, Danica Patrick and tennis player Caroline Wozniacki rounded out the top 5.  Tiger Woods was the first male on the list at 6 followed by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Rousey lost to Holly Holm on November 14th in Australia.  Prior to her loss, Rousey had two wins this year against Cat Zingano at UFC.

Payout Perspective:

Based on the Google searches we report on Ronda Rousey fight weekend, the searches are not surprising.  A portion of the searches are likely due to the curious individual not willing to buy the PPV looking for her fights online.  Of course, looking at the top 5 Yahoo searches, one might deduce that most of the searches are performed by males.  If you factor the Yahoo searches plus the amount found on Google, Rousey is one of the most sought after athletes online.
