MMA Junkie reports the attendance and bonuses for UFC Fight Night 67 held in Golania, Golas, Brazil.
The UFC announced an attendance of 3,500 from the Golania Arena. As has been the custom with the UFC and its Brazil shows, no gate was announced for the event.
The 3,500 is the lowest announced attendance for a UFC show in Brazil since the promotion returned to the country in 2012. According to this information its maximum capacity is 15,000.
The bonuses were awarded to Charles Oliveira, Nick Lentz and Rony Jason. Olivera earned two bonuses equaling $100,000. Oliveira and Lentz earned Fight of the Night and Jason earned a Performance of the Night.

Payout Perspective:
You could have thrown in Carlos Condit in as a Performance of the Night winner but for the work of Do Bronx and Jason. Condit was impressive in stopping Thiago Alves. But the real story was that the attendance was quite low. In comparison, UFC Fight Night 32 in November 2013 featuring Vitor Belfort-Dan Henderson drew 10,565 in Golania. While the UFC blames the economy for the low turnout one has to wonder about whether or not the demand for better cards is the reason. Certainly, Ronda Rousey’s appearance at UFC 190 should help.

The numbers show that you gotta have a big time Brazilian headlining

Hahahaha…stats show the first few were big and the decline continues….thats the fastest growing sport hahahaha….creditors looking at this closely….one big marketing hype bubble
tops E says
It was pitch black on the blank seats….poor tv and production crew….used all kinds of angle tricks and lighting to hide it hahahaha….but it was still very obvious
wil says
The UFC is in decline…it peaked from 2005-2010 and the fox ratings, ppv sales, TUF ratings have all fallen since. MMA is one of the few sports Brazil has and the UFC didnt even come close to selling out an arena, quite the opposite. Be careful being arrogant about “boxing is dead”….you might want to rethink that sport you say that about…..
LeonThePro says
Rio peaked at 16k then dropped to 13, 11, 7. First 3 shows in Brazil did 10k+ … After that only 3/14 shows did 10k+. UFC started strong but per usual has over saturated the market. Even if you look at the other cities individually it’s flat or decline…
saldathief says
It soon funny how when the UFC doesn’t have huge USA sponsors they can’t sell tickets! Proves my statement that sponsors are now buying tickets in all markets in the USA! The ufc is hiding sponsor money in ticket sales. If you don’t believe that you are a moron!! But its too bad they can’t even do a decent show In brazil anymore very sad! The ufc is in serious trouble, oh wait I have been saying that for a while now!!

PBC put up another golden turd on CBS with a .85 rating.

Its so laughable when a moron like D starts comparing the top echelon mma promotion to the lowest boxing promotion bahahhaha. It would be like Golden boy being compared to WSOF. Desperate times for desperate measures. He never addresses the issue just shifts the attention, typical UFC sucker bullshit. Seems like the ufc bs is coming to attrition. hahaha
d says
HAHAHAHA!!! Lowest boxing promotion??? This was PBC on NBC you stupid fuck!
d says
WSOF production cost are a fraction of PBC, only a boxing paid retarded troll would believe other wise.

Khan-Algieri attendance…..7k
Showtime passed on airing it.
Pathetic for one of boxing’s alleged stars.

It doesn’t say much for the board members on this site, who are ridiculing the UFC’s gate at this Brazilian event. Do any of you even know what’s going on in the news?
The lack of people, attendance dropping might be a result of the overall popularity (or lack of) of the UFC. But in this case, there is a much better explanation that clearly gives a reason. This is the ongoing collapse of the Brazilian economy. They’ve gone from boom to bust fairly quickly and things have spiraled out of control. When people start become afraid of how to put food on the table, buying tickets to the UFC isn’t going to be high on their list of priorities. And that goes for any event down there.
Nice job boxing fanboys. Way to make yourselves look pretty stupid.
saldathief says
spin spin and more spin by UFC paid troll losers hahaha please give us more excuses! Brazil has always been a county of poverty! Despite what dip shits like you think! Soccer still packs it in, so does 100’s of other events despite most people living under poverty! Even with comps it sucked!! so another Bullshit statement by the new heir to the throne of UFC lies, deception. and stupidity! Look at boxing numbers during the great depression you fuck tool!!! haha
LeonThePro says
Matty the “economy” excuse is a bit hard to buy. Did you even read the numbers I posted? Yea that excuse is a tough pill to swallow.
Not to mention UFC did great numbers – some of their best – in the most recent North-American economic “crisis.”
Combo says
Sal: “please give us more excuses! Brazil has always been a county of poverty! ”
Has the economy been this bad where even fighters (multiple) are publicly complaining and protesting the government in the ring?
No.
Might it be the only thing explaining the decline in attendance? No, but to dismiss it as a significant factor is not looking at the situation honestly, but points to denial, rather.
d says
Saldaqueef ranting again like the retard he always has been. Meanwhile PBC numbers shitting right down the toilet! Khan vs Algieri was a much higher profile fight in the US at Barclay’s Center and only did 7k in attendance in a building that holds 19k. Talk about a turdburger!
Random Dude says
The economy excuse isn’t going to fly around here. That was used for the whole UFC’s decline in the US and it still hasn’t come back even though the economy has recovered. We don’t want to hear that excuse for Brazil for 5 years.
Matt Malloy says
RandomDude (and other boxing fanboys)
I would suggest that you go read some news. Broaden your reading material and put down the FMJ fan fiction.
What is going on down there isn’t an ‘excuse’. It is reality. It started earlier this year and around March & April, things took a real bad turn for the worse. Citizens there are now really feeling some pain. And to think that this wouldn’t affect disposable income amongst people is just flat out dumb. This is real. Protests that reportedly had up to a million. People’s confidence in the government broken. Prices rising fast, which a country with Brazil’s past history of hyperinflation, is sure to freak people out. People are instantly becoming poor (many public sector citizen’s have has their wages frozen)
It’s bad there.
And it hasn’t always been like this. Brazil hasn’t “always been a country of poverty”. Yes, it has it’s fair share of poverty, but in the past five years, their economy was in the news as one of the fastest growing countries in the world. Huge success story. In the last few years, they passed up countries like the Great Britain.
Whether you like it not, the situation there has to be considered when discussing attendance at events. To ignore it, is to be stupid.
d says
Matt- just one thing to point out, the people there protesting are being financed by the economic powers in the West who want back in Brazil after being thrown out financially once Brazil paid off their IMF loans a few years back. Not that they aren’t temporarily in a recession, but the cause of it isn’t the Brazilian gov’t, it is the West trying to squeeze them.
wILL d says
Funny how the post fight conference only lasted 11min and 57 seconds!!!!!! That’s what they get for screwing the fighters with the Reebok deal…And not letting the fighters have their banners with their sponsors on it!!! I hope the UFC takes a dive!!!
