In addition, UFC Executive Tom Wright announced attendance at 7,984 and $1,051,000 million Australian dollars. This would equate to $833,810 US dollars per MMA Junkie.
The capacity at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre is 12,000 and 9,300 for netball.
Payout Perspective:
Interesting that Stipe Miocic did not receive a $50,000 for his record breaking dominating performance. It was the first time for the UFC in Adelaide. In comparison, the last time the UFC was in the region was this past November with UFC Fight Night 55 in Sydney. That card drew 9,904 for slightly over $1 million.
saldathief says
Last time I was in Adelaide it was 112 degrees out, luckily the arena has good AC. Adelaide is not a major city, these numbers are about what I would expect there. The UFC needs to do things on Australia time not US time when they are there. Starting a show at 8am is fucking retarded! So with the gate and fight pass 7985 people watched this show! haha On another note over 30k came to see dead boxing tonight in Texas!! ha
d says
800k gate for a low profile fight. Better than PBC numbers. HAHAHAHA!!!!
Pink Pig says
Celebrating an 800k gate… oh how far the UFC has fallen. How far… LOL
d says
Na, the PBC crowd celebrates gates like that. I just pointed out how a very low profile ufc card beat the PBC NBC numbers. HAHAHA!
joe says
Where can you get the PBC numbers from?
Saldathief says
Haha D tries to compare pbc to the ufc. Pbc has done what 4 maybe 5 shows in this format? Far better then bellator and is acually doing better then the ufc at the moment Sad days for the ufc hahahah. So ufc. 186 in Canada what was that ? Oh I know is was a 10 million dollar loss for the ufc and completely ruined their Canadian market haha. its all coming out in the wash! Ufc failures are very common now days. Haha ufc down 80% from 2012. Hahaha
d says
The UFC’s first show on FOX peaked at 8.8m viewers. PBC got about half of that. End of argument.
Chris says
reading Sal make shit up is funny.
Didnt realize Sal has access to the UFC’s books to know they lost exactly 10 mill on UFC 186.
Then this idiot wants to complain about someone comparing PBC to UFC yet this fucking tard compares everything UFC does to something else.
Thinks primetime ratings on network tv are comparable to FS1 cable UFC ratings that air at 10am.
Saldathief says
Chris is a moron who makes no valid points and adds less then nothing to the discussion. Why dont you make some excuses up for the last 2 completly shitty ufc events . And what else is there to compare bellator? Or some low rent mmma promotion thats not even viable? Chris please tell us, since you are a fucking know it all, how much the ufc loses when they dont sell any ppv numbers and spend millions on promotion, maybe you are too stupid to realize that the ufc spent at least 2 million on pay outs, local advertising and production, plus lawyers for jackson. Haha
You clowns are just dumfounded that boxing had a huge night 1 week after maypac
Tune in this week fuck tards for the ppv. numbers hahah
Saldathief says
Bahahh the ufc did 8 million once and then all their numbers plummeted. It was so not worth it. Hahaha. D’s claim to fame hahaha. Fox was the worst thing that happened to the ufc!!
d says
Sal has really gone off the deep end. He’s on full blown meltdown mode. Completely nuts.
The Greatest says
“The UFC’s first show on FOX peaked at 8.8m viewers. PBC got about half of that. End of argument.”
When Ali fought Shavers 70m viewers were watching.
But let me guess I cant compare that right? Even though you compare PBC to any mma organization from any year that you please but get mad when you get the same treatment.
The reason UFC on Fox 1 did good numbers that they have never come close to doing again is because of a few reasons.
Heavyweight fighters fighting on a hyped card that was also the debut of a new sport.
PBC isn’t introducing a new sport, its just bringing one back to main TV.
Everyone in the world knows boxing in every corner of the world.
I would probably say over 96% of the world knows what boxing is.
The 4% is for people that still live in tribes who have no idea of the modern world.
MMA isn’t ever remotely close to that.
Girl at my work doesn’t know what mma is. Shes 24. Im 27.
But she knew who Mayweather is.
The Greatest says
But where are these ratings now?
Its funny that D complains that its unfair to count Mayweather and Pacquiaos ppv numbers because he says that’s not reflective of boxing….
Yet you turn right around and compare a UFC on Fox that was like 3 years ago. that’s numbers….wait for it….clearly aren’t reflective of the UFC as a whole.
How can we prove that those numbers are reflective of the UFC?
Well for one the 15 UFCs on FOXs after that have come no where near that mark.
And JDS-Cains last fight only did 330kppvs.
Wow, you really brought home the casual fan on that one.
Chris says
Whats sad is this shit still exists, this retarded mma vs boxing bullshit.
I know why it started, mma started to blow up and boxing fans got mad that a new form of fighting came out and mma fans said boxing was dead and it started this dumb fighting but why has it continued?
Neither sport is going anywhere, hate to break it all you tards, boxing isnt going anywhere and neither is UFC. Both have peaks and valleys, both have trouble finding stars. Its not easy. Not every event is gonna be a homerun.
Just shut the fuck up and enjoy the sports you like instead of coming here to root nad pray for the downfall of something you dont like.
Bunch of fucking douchebags.
And Sal you have no idea what UFC spends promoting events, what they make on sponsors, how many PPV buys they really sell and what they pay their fighters. You have no idea what they make, what they lose.
d says
HAHAHA!! The Gayest! HAHAHA!
You have to go back 40 years. HAHAHA!!! Gee, why would that make a difference? Could it be, because boxing was 1000x more popular back then? Idiot.
“Heavyweight fighters fighting on a hyped card that was also the debut of a new sport.”
Wrong moron. The sport was created back in 1993. Also, even if that was the case, why did UFC on FOX 2 also destroy any of the PBC’s?
The girl at your work is really your caretaker at your nut house, you quack.
Where are the ratings now? Still very solid, notably in the 18-49 demo. The boxing ratings started off very poorly for a debut with big names. Watch when they start to settle in and the numbers drop drastically. Also, of course, the UFC cards cost a fraction of the budget that PBC shows do and they also already have a deal in place as opposed to PBC which is fighting for one.
Your problem is you are attempting to compare PBC’s debut numbers, with the FOX numbers presently(which by the way are nearly identical). The debut is always going to be the biggest viewership. Once it settles in, the numbers will go down. Then you will come up with another one of your crazy, anti social excuses because you are a career idiot.
The Greatest says
“I know why it started, mma started to blow up and boxing fans got mad that a new form of fighting came out and mma fans said boxing was dead and it started this dumb fighting but why has it continued?”
New form of fighting? No boxing fan got mad about that.
It was when they tried to claim that boxing was dead and that they were taking over.
Its also funny how they claim that they can beat boxers in a real life fight but time after time you constantly see UFC fighters getting there ass whooped by average joes in the street (Maiquel Falcao and his mma buddy). Cody Gibson getting tooled around by some guy at a club. Don Frye getting his ass beat in a hotel lobby by a former amateur boxer. Uriah Faber and his ass beating overseas.
The Greatest says
“You have to go back 40 years. HAHAHA!!! Gee, why would that make a difference? Could it be, because boxing was 1000x more popular back then? Idiot”
I know Lennox Lewis vs somebody did about 5m on HBO 13 years ago.
Maybe Klitschko? But 5m (I think it was 4.6m) on HBO? UFC cant do that.
More people bought Mayweather-Pacquiao for $100 then watched the last UFC on FOX for free.
Id also bet some free fights or fights on regular tv or on HBO in the 80s and 90s did more than the UFC on FOXs debut.
Its Hilarious that were talking about that one time 3 years UFC did 8.8m at its peak viewership for 30 seconds. D tries to talk about it like it is the norm.
Your shows do like 2.1m now. Why dont you talk about those and not about that one time along time ago. Because when we start talking about the past, boxing just obliterates anything you want to talk about.
“Wrong moron. The sport was created back in 1993.?”
Technically moron, the sport was created way before 1993. It wasnt like in 1993 people figured out that they can twist someones arm and make them tap out, idiot.
But what I was talking about was a debut of a sport to a mainstream audience or to the casual fans.
They put it on and they didnt continue watching. If they did you wouldnt be doing 2m viewers a show, you would be doing alot more.
If you had as much popularity as you claimed, then you could bring in a 74m gate and sell over potentially 5m ppvs for one fight.
You could have ESPN basically dedicate their week to covering your fight, MIND YOU, as the draft and the Kentucky Derby are going on.
d says

Here comes the mental case again. This is how braindead this fucking idiot is. He takes examples of street fights that occur where an mma fighter is surrounded, outnumbered and attacked with weapons as his examples. As well as a wasted Don Frye in a hotel room, etc.
In reality we’ve seen boxers try mma and they’ve pretty much all failed miserably. Notably the 3 who entered the octagon and were destroyed: Jimmerson, Bowen and Toney. Then there were a number of others who also tried it and were embarrassed badly like Mayorga, Butterbean, Milo Savage, Julius Francis, and many others. If you want to talk about recorded street level fights- we see it all the time on amateur video of wrestlers destroying kickboxers or boxers- The Gracies in Action tapes had many of those occurrences, also even recently when an idiotic boxer named Patrick Martin fought Josh Neer in his gym and Neer destroyed him despite giving up 50lbs.
Oh yeah and you just lied about Faber you quack.
When the UFC started to really explode after the reality show became popular and their ppv took off with big numbers, boxing fighters, fans and promoters all started trashing mma because they saw it as a legit threat-which it clearly is seeing how it has outdrawn them in ppv revenue year after year and landed a network deal unlike boxing.
d says
“I know Lennox Lewis vs somebody did about 5m on HBO 13 years ago.

Going back 12 years and making comparisons again is why you are delusional. The hw division doesn’t even exist in boxing anymore. As a matter of fact, that was literally the last hw boxing match that anyone in the US gave a shit about. And also, if the UFC had been on HBO or Showtime, I guarantee you they would get those ratings for a fight that was that big. That was a major hw title fight with one of its biggest stars ever.
“More people bought Mayweather-Pacquiao for $100 then watched the last UFC on FOX for free.”
More people bought that fight than watched the last PBC on NBC for free.
“Id also bet some free fights or fights on regular tv or on HBO in the 80s and 90s did more than the UFC on FOXs debut.”
Haha. Again, looking at boxing’s past. Going back 20-30 years. Very funny. Yeah, people used to have a lot of interest in boxing. They do not anymore. No one gives a shit about it other than 2 or 3 fights per year.
“Its Hilarious that were talking about that one time 3 years UFC did 8.8m at its peak viewership for 30 seconds. D tries to talk about it like it is the norm.

I never said it was the norm. That is your delusional mind again creating fictional arguments. I also never said it was the norm, I compared it to PBC’s debut. There were no UFC’s on FOX that did any lower than 2.5m viewers and every one of them outdrew the PBC shows in the coveted 18-49 demo. When PBC runs a number of shows, you will see it start to gradually lose avg ratings. The fact remains the first 2 ufc’s on FOX destroy the first 2 PBC’s on NBC.
“Technically moron, the sport was created way before 1993. It wasnt like in 1993 people figured out that they can twist someones arm and make them tap out, idiot.

No, technically retard, the sport was NOT created way before 1993. You are now claiming training in jiu jitsu or other forms of martial art designate that as some sort of sport. That isn’t what is collectively accepted as a sport. A sport is typically considered something that is applied in a real competition on a consistent professional setting which is what the UFC was. Now if we are talking about when the athletic commissions started to sanction it, that was not until around 2000, but none the less, was years ago, not 2011.
They were already on SpikeTv since 2005 and had even been on the Best Damn Sports Show back in 2002 I believe. This wasn’t anything new, it was just the biggest deal they had ever achieved being on a network and having a massive deal with FOX. This of course was AFTER CBS had hosted several mma cards that did very well also.
Nothing new, wasn’t even new to the networks.
“If you had as much popularity as you claimed, then you could bring in a 74m gate and sell over potentially 5m ppvs for one fight.
You could have ESPN basically dedicate their week to covering your fight, MIND YOU, as the draft and the Kentucky Derby are going on.”
Na, your numbers are false and think about how impressive the UFC fight numbers are considering they get very little mainstream coverage and they still destroy boxing nearly every year in ppv revenue. If boxing was so popular, why don’t they sell a number of ppvs every year? That is where the big money is. They tried having more last year and it flopped royally.
Nice try moron. You are such a nutjob. Stop stalking people freak.
The Greatest says
Patrick Martin and Josh Neer?
Patrick Martin isnt a boxer but actually fights MMA.
Also he wore 16oz gloves while sparring Josh Neer and he tooled Neer.
Did u not see the other video that shows Neer getting stuffed on two takedowns and getting muffed around by Martin, a guy who just started training?
Of course you didn’t. Go watch the unedited video of a nobody wearing 16oz gloves slapping around a pro mma fighter.
U lose again
d says
Patrick Martin’s background was in boxing. He transitioned to mma. He got his azz thoroughly kicked and didn’t have 16 oz gloves when Neer fucked him up despite the bullshit that delusional idiot claimed.
HAHAHAHA!! Neer gives up 50lbs and destroys another boxing challenger!!! HAHAHA!! Boxers can’t fight, they are pussys. HAHAHA!!! How’s your one glove doing, retard??
The Greatest says
He is not a boxer.
He has no amateur or professional fights.
Hes just a guy who trys to be an mma fighter and he made a pro mma fighter look foolish.
https://youtu.be/-RupB6GU50k
Heres the video, idiot
d says
HE was a boxer- he was
Made Neer look foolish? Yeah, he looked real foolish cracking a guy (who outweighed him by at least 50lbs), relentlessly in the head with his elbow and then Pele’ing him in the face while people had to rescue Martin.
Interview with Martin by mmafighting:
EM: How long have you trained in MMA?
PM: Well I boxed growing up and wrestled till high school before playing basketball. I always had a love for boxing since my best friends dad “Billy Graham” got my involved at the age of 7, with the sport I attended pena’s boxing club in davenport, Iowa.
PM: Yeah both boxing and wrestling. Most recent was a state championship about 6 years ago amateur. I had a MMA bout like 8 years ago it was in Iowa city at the Union bar when they brought the rings in for fight night. I was the first fighter that signed up and the first win in the bar. So this will be my first year training seriously for MMA.
EM: You wrestled in the state championship?
PM: No I never made it to state! I made it to distract my 9th grade you but was beat out by the senior state heavyweight champ in class 1A Iowa!
EM: You mentioned you were in the state championship, was that in boxing then?
PM: Yea, 2008!
EM: How many amateur bouts have you had? How many did you win?
PM: 2 boxing, 1 MMA. I’ve never lost any amatuer bout!
The Gayest has to eat crow again.
