Fight Pass features McGregor “On the Fly”

July 15, 2014 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

The UFC is presenting a new, original three-part series on its UFC Fight Pass digital network featuring Conor McGregor.  “UFC on the Fly” features McGregor as he makes his final preparations for his fight Saturday night in his hometown against Diego Brandao.

A sample of the series is here:

Payout Perspective:

This has to be a risk for the UFC to invest so much in McGregor as he has not had any signature wins and is coming off of a big injury.  He talks a good game and has a fan-friendly fight style.  McGregor has the “it” factor and the UFC hopes he is someone that can open up new global markets for the company.  The new, slick look of this program is well done and tells a good story.  Now, all McGregor has to do is put on an entertaining fight…and win.  This is the type of content that should supplement UFC fan interest in subscribing to its digital network.

This guy better be the next big thing, he sure talks the talk, and is becoming the Irish ‘Sonnen’ saying some really ridiculous things that scream “I’m just playing a character and trolling everyone”.

Funny how the UFC is going all out promotion-wise on a guy who only has 2 fights in the UFC and against low-level competition at that. This really tells you just how desperate the UFC is at the moment.

Putting out a 3 episode series on fight pass for a fighter is hardly going all out promotion.

    Logical,

I’m not seeing the similarity to Sonnen, at least in this clip. I also don’t think this is remotely “all out”. This is something basic to tease his fans and drum up some interest but it’s fairly modest. Looks like one camera crew a director and an editor. They aren’t doing any difficult shots or and McGregor is doing all the narration.

@Josh_HokitUFC You’re gonna cry you were cancelled by the left for “free speech”. And then you’ll post 200 times a day on Twitter until fox and friends invites you on to “tell your story”. And after that you’ll run for congress and your campaign will be centered on white grievance.

This is

Real question. Was this announced or is there an intern somewhere that is taking note of ever fighter’s follow and unfollow?
