MMA Payout has learned that the 11th episode of TUF 19: Team Penn vs. Team Edgar drew 366,000 viewers according to Nielsen sources. The live plus same day number is the lowest this season but was the most-watched show on FS1 on Wednesday.
In addition, the same night replay of TUF in the 10pmPT/1amET time slot received 94,000 viewers which up 6% in that time slot. In the fight of the episode, Corey Anderson defeated Patrick Walsh by unanimous decision.
Payout Perspective:
The 11th episode is the lowest rated show of the season and possibly the lowest rating ever for TUF. Interesting that although it pulled the low rating, it was still the most-watched show on the network for Wednesday. The ratings are disappointing after it had achieved its second highest rating of the season for episode 10. We will see if it can bounce back for the season finale. The average for the season is 466,000 (live +SD).

This is too bad, shows that UFC fans have no longevity as far as being fans of fighters. This TUF would have down triple years ago. BJ was a big name, one of the first Americans to get a BJJ black belt if I remember correctly. Well I guess they need to restructure TUF or give it a rest all together. Looks like the big ppv for these 2 guys will be a disappointment.
D says
More of your nonsense.
How is that longevity from “The Contender” doing?
Penn-Edgar is not some highly anticipated ppv. Not a title fight, and Penn is clearly washed up.
saldathief says
It appears to be doing shit! Dragged out reality show that’s going into the shitter along with Fox ratings and PPv sales. Oh well
D says
Doing shit presently, while having success in the past is much better than bombing and having one or two seasons then being cancelled like “the contender” did.
FightBusiness says
D- The contender had episodes that were actually seen by up to 6 million people on NBC. For a whole season it averaged 4 million viewers per episode. When it went to ESPN it averaged over 1. 5 million viewers per episode and its finale was viewed by 2.3 million viewers. I have no idea why it was cancelled. those are very strong numbers
saldathief says
Wow I had no idea Contender had those kind of numbers. I guess they got out while it was good instead of running it pathetically into he ground and losing fans and any serious sports people taking it seriously. Dam 6 mill thats like a season of TUF in one night.
D says
FightBusiness, it bombed royally. It was on in Primetime Thursday night(the most watched time slot for tv) and was destroyed by all of the networks. NBC decided to pull the plug after one season for obvious reasons.
What is funny is that it was a massive production cost. It cost 2 million per episode when it was on NBC. That means the show cost a total of 32million for 1 16 episode season. Sal, this one’s for you buddy- that is called a catastrophic loss. They also had Sugar Ray Leonard and Stallone as the hosts and it was produced by the king of reality tv Mark Burnett. Pretty pathetic considering nearly everything Burnett touches turns to gold. Just impossible with the little interest in boxing for the casual crowd despite the production and star power. The show was cancelled for the same reason nearly every tv show is cancelled, the ratings weren’t good enough.
Also important to note, boxing had another reality show that bombed- De La Hoya’s “The Next Great Champ”. Most people never even heard of it, that is how poor the ratings were.
The Ultimate Fighter on the other hand has had a number of successful seasons over and over again constantly being renewed. The next season I believe will be their 20th season. The Contender lasted 5 and was pulled from its original channel after 1 season.
D says
Correction, the Contender only lasted 4 seasons in the US.
saldathief says
I forgot it had suger ray and Stallone lol what a bunch of clowns. I dont watch reality tv its all bullshit anyhow. Good research D funny with all the information on google you cant report anything bad about the UFC but others can, oh I almost forgot again you get paid to lie.
D says
Haha. Thanks for acknowledging once again you a Bob Arum cocksucking troll. No one lies more than you.
saldathief says
Its funny you think you know stuff, but I dislike Arum more than White lol I guess the only thing you are correct on is numbers favoring the UFC How does it feel to be a paid Dana White fuck boy? bahahaha
AK says
Why, why, WHYYYYYY haven’t they done a Comeback season again yet????? The show absurdly sucks ASS and has terrible ratings/fan interest. On top of the absurdly teeerrible “winner” contracts, ASSinine decision to always debut it after 10-hour long fight marathons, and decision to tie up the coaches for a year at a time, the UFC deserves every single mocking/shatting they get as being laughable amateurs. What a joke.
D says
Its funny that you think you know things-even more so when I clearly prove you wrong and you reduce yourself to dodging the point I make.
You love Arum, you said he was one of the greatest things to ever happen to boxing because you suck his cock on a daily basis you queen.
