Awaits Trolls……..
D says
Also, before anyone says Dillashaw gets paid pennies, keep in mind he made 136k of disclosed money with his bonuses. This also does not include what he was paid to promote the fight, any additional bonuses or sponsorship money as well. Not bad for a weight division that didn’t even exist prior to 3 years ago in the UFC.
Quincy says
I bet Dana White is happy now that he has another champion to pay “TUF” money since Renan got a pay rise
AK says
The TUF contracts are still mind boggling and retarded as ever. Aren’t “winners” supposed to actually WIN something??
saldathief says
Ok so that’s about a million$ in fighter payroll, at a gate of 1.7 mil I doubt they made a dime on the gate, depending on other expenses and ppv buys this looks like a dud and possible loss. UFC should have built their own venue in Vegas, paying the bills at MGM is enormous. Its not like Zuffa doesn’t own real estate.
tops E says
Cheap pay from cheap ass promotion….sinking ship promotion
Random Dude says
Someone actually thinks only $18,000 guaranteed is good pay for someone who is challenging (and ends up beating) one of the pound-for-pound best MMA fighters according to Dana White and the MMA community?
And this is justified because the UFC didn’t have that weight class 3 years ago?
The shills are getting crazier and crazier around here…
Dillashaw’s pay is horrible, even with the bonuses which are far from guaranteed. If he had won the fight in a boring fashion he still deserves way more than $18,000 guaranteed.
D says
SalDaQueef with more of his ignorant rants. You literally know nothing you speak on.
Random Dude, he was a replacement fighter on a very low profile ppv card. There were undercard fighters who had 6 figures guaranteed in their contract, it looks like it balanced out.
D says
Random Dude, if Dillashaw won that fight in boring fashion, he would have made 36k.
saldathief says
D bag please enlighten us on the gross/net of the event considering you said it cost between 3 and 5 million on production to do a show. thanks you idiot. Obviously you know nothing and just proved it.
D says
I said 3 to 5 for their big shows. Not replacement cards featuring 135lbers.
Clearly you can’t read you idiot!
By the way, coming from someone who always claims we don’t know anything about these figures, you sure make a lot of estimations about the events. I guess estimations are acceptable when you make them. Goes to show what kind of dumbass you are.
You aren’t even aware of the split between the venue and the event producer. The MGM doesn’t get all that money. The UFC doesn’t have a prearranged figure they have to pay upfront, it is a revenue split of typically 50-50. Not to mention we don’t even know what the ppv buys are yet.
Also by the way, does Showtime lose money when a Mayweather fight doesn’t hit 1m buys? Because in terms of net profit from the event alone, I believe I’ve read their break even point is over a million buys. But that really isn’t accurate because they get the rights to air the fight on their channel. The UFC owns the content rights of the fight, plus fights like this one specifically are what helped them get that big contract with Globo that pays them 60m.
saldathief says
AAA no its not fuck stick, venue gets a flat fee or building rental up front guaranteed idiot. Once again you are showing your ass and you know nothing! What do you think they estimate production by the pound? thats laughable. Any show unless its in a tent with no rent has similar production costs. Labor costs will vary depending on the city and unions or non unions. You need to research more, there are actually classes in most collages on entertainment/ theater management. Go read a book on production management before you make stupid 50/50 claims. Absurd! Venue and promoter can and often share in a split of concessions. Also promoter can also get revenue from ticket sure charges from whatever ticket agency they might use, ie ticket master. Its like a buck or two at ticket kickback it adds up, I bet you didnt know about that fuck boy. So piss up a tree and stop with your no experienced google business nonsense, you are right maybe 1 out of 10 times and the rest is just ignorant dribble
saldathief says
D please tell me how electricity, the use, the cost etc is factored, or billed into an event. What are the variables of something so basic that every show needs.
D says
I knew they were averaging 50%, they may have been making it from the split after rental and production of the event, whatever, you are still dead wrong about everything else involved in this debate yet you claim I am right one out of ten times.
For example,
1. You were wrong about the ppv split, you even admitted you didn’t know what the cut was for the ufc ppvs. Yet of course you estimated(incorrectly) what the Hendricks ppv did, all the while claiming how estimations are bullshit because we don’t know what the specifics are for these events.
2. You were wrong about the taxes. You didn’t even know about the sales tax that is involved, I had to point that out. The state sales taxes for the events in Nevada are as follows: Nevada – $4,000 minimum fee to run a show w/ officials. Throw in $1,000-$2,000 for drug testing. 6% live gate tax (paid & comped tickets), no cap. 3% TV tax for first $1M exposed, 1% of next 2M, capped at $50k (capture zone up to $3M). The tv taxes are not on the ppv, that is on cable tv and the money obviously comes from the sponsorship. As for the state/federal income taxes you claimed they were taxed 50% of the net. This is the funniest part of your statements because federal income taxes aren’t paid out per individual event, they are taxed on their overall quarterly income, which creates so many factors into the tax. Do you have any idea how many write offs and credits they get? But even if we focus on a specific event and talk about the taxes play into something like this on a state level, the taxes are no where near 50%, probably not even 10%. Even if you hypothetically look at what state/fed’l income taxes are for an event like this, there is no way, it approaches anywhere near 50%. Why do you think massive companies like this lobby to death to block flat taxes? Because they draw out every loophole imaginable, which brings down the rate. Also, Vegas income taxes are no very low which is why big fight promotions like to event there. You also attempted to add the ufc’s debt from global expansion to how much this event would cost which is absurd for obvious reasons.
3. You created a fabrication that FOX somehow gets a cut of the UFC ppv events which not only has no evidence what so ever, but would be ridiculous seeing how they put nothing into the production of the ppv.
4. You think an event loses money despite the fact that even if that night it didn’t profit, the event replays through tv rights, later in demand buys, etc. eventually exceeds the initial loss. This is how Showtime has looked at 2 out of the 3 Mayweather fights they’ve distributed. Rafael reported their break even point for the Guerrero event was not met, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t make up for it by re airing the fight, etc.
5. You didn’t know what the split is typically in boxing where I had to provide a hard figure of one of Canelo’s disclosed splits with GB to shut you up.
6. You contradict yourself left and right about the payouts in both sports assuming the production costs and payouts in mma are higher than they are in boxing which is absurd based on the high split the headlining boxer gets from the promoter. Then on the other side pointing out how the UFC nickle and dime’s the fighters and boxers get paid much more.
7. I was the one who pointed out the merchandise split, not you, go back and read our previous conversation.
8. I used to scalp tickets, I know everything about their cut with ticketmaster. I also knew about their deal with Stubhub, which I guarantee that you knew nothing about you dummy.
9. You had no idea about the insurance for an event in your breakdown of the costs. Insurance for the fighters, the event, etc.
10. You didn’t know anything about their other tv deals abroad. I had to point out their deal with Globo to you.
There is 11 issues related to this argument we’ve had and 1 of which you may have been correct about. Congrats you dumb fuck! Go pay your 50% income taxes after every t shirt you sold from your t shirt tent after you already paid sales tax on the gross. You see, if you actually did run a business like I do, you would have a better idea of how taxes actually work, rather than what your interpretation was of your friend’s “collage” class. Key emphasis on the symbolism of “collage”.
By the way, I never said that the UFC didn’t pick up the production costs for the events. I made it very clear they did.
tops E says
Add aldo to ufc cheapie salary bandwagon hahahaha
saldathief says
D well I see you dodged any real questions or facts and once again you are speculating on things that I already said I didnt know exactly and was using examples, but we all know you only read and understand what you want and whats in your employers favor, typical.
1 Taxes, yes estimated, unless you have seen a tax return from zuffa you are talking out your ass, there are many more taxes then income that can be varied in so we both dont know what they pay in taxes so dont pretend like you know. You cant prove one way or another it could be close to 50% on a show.
2. PPV, I’ll put this as one, you have no idea if fox gets a cut from ppv that it advertises and pushes on its network, its a secret deal that is private so you cant say yes or no, but im sure you had no idea that it is a possibility and there are many more that could be in the deal, so once again you show us how ignorant and in the box of stupidity and lack of business sense you actually have. It could even go the other way where UFC advertises FOX shows on PPV events so once again you are blind to possible business deals.
3 boxing splits can vary from promoter to promoter and 99% of what anyone reads is complete BS. So again you are a fool that believes press hype. Boxing is the most corrupt sport on the planet son!
4 TV rights for a fight that no one cares about is laughable, no one cares and no one will ever so your statement is total bunk. Even the best UFC fight in history has marginal after market value. Maybe one or two showing with no real value, and if the show lost the first time you are going to be in the hole even showing it.
5 Boxing has bigger and more sponsors dumb ass, Boxing is nas car and UFC is tractor pull in comparison. Since we dont know the marketing costs of either I’ll make the claim that the UFC spends way more, why else would they need to borrow 500 million dollars? Yea dummy to spend on promotion idiot!
6 typically a building will get 10 to 15% on merch or there is a cash buy out. Merch can be big money. All depends on cost and inventory. location and region will dictate merch sales. I doubt the UFC is covering its bills with T shirts.
7 you never mentioned the tickets till now yea right another scumbag scalper figures. what to you think IE means dummy .
8 Unless you are the insurance agent and have read the UFC’s deceleration page and seen a certificate for an event you are playing with your little dick thinking you know anything about what their policy is worth and the specifics. Once again you show your ass. Is the UFC self insured? I doubt it but they could be up to a certain amount, ha we don’t know fool.
9 yes I dont know what the deals are abroad and neither do you its private you idiot. Anyone can say anything and say any amount and so can FOX nimrod private deal The FOX deal isnt what you think. so you think a third world TV station with people that dont have toilet paper are going to pave the way for the UFC to get out from under? UGh you are so naive.
I just picked apart all your supposed issues which you claim I know nothing about! You still havnt explained how electricity a simple basic thing that anyone with production experience would know. Waiting? if you are so schooled with the Biz of mma and events you would have no problem detailing it
D says
Haha. You fucking dummy!
“1 Taxes, yes estimated, unless you have seen a tax return from zuffa you are talking out your ass, there are many more taxes then income that can be varied in so we both dont know what they pay in taxes so dont pretend like you know. You cant prove one way or another it could be close to 50% on a show.”
Talking out my ass? Coming from someone who believes massive businesses pay 50% of their net in taxes and was unaware that they pay quarterlies, pretty clear, YOU are talking out of your ass, you idiot. You see, some of us who actually run a business grasp these concepts. You just made some bullshit number so that it backed up your bullshit argument. They don’t pay 50% in income taxes. You didn’t even know that they paid state taxes either, which is what makes this more amusing. You have literally no idea what you are talking about. You also tried to group in their expansion debt to one event’s net. Fucking moron!
2. “. It could even go the other way where UFC advertises FOX shows on PPV events so once again you are blind to possible business deals.”
We also have no idea that any business relationship the UFC has with any other company gets a cut of the ppv. How about JAKKS? How about Globo? How about anyone else? Only a complete fucking moron would assume that a company that contributes literally nothing to the production/promotion of a ppv would get a piece of it. All this also from someone who hates assumptions. Fucking idiot!
3 “boxing splits can vary from promoter to promoter and 99% of what anyone reads is complete BS. So again you are a fool that believes press hype. Boxing is the most corrupt sport on the planet son!”
Haha. Of course they vary from promoter to promoter. I gave you one example dummy. It is well known that the major event boxers make the lion’s share of the split. Literally everyone in the business acknowledges it: promoters/fighters/distributors/journalists. Let me know if you need more sources.
4. “TV rights for a fight that no one cares about is laughable, no one cares and no one will ever so your statement is total bunk. Even the best UFC fight in history has marginal after market value. Maybe one or two showing with no real value, and if the show lost the first time you are going to be in the hole even showing it.”
Just another example of what kind of fucking idiot you are. TV rights for a fight no one cares about? First off, people pay to watch these fights through the ufc’s on demand menu and I’m not talking about the week after the fight. Go there right now and you will see fights from years ago available. Are they huge like Mayweather, no, but the big title fights can still draw interest. You are just very ignorant.
5 “Boxing has bigger and more sponsors dumb ass, Boxing is nas car and UFC is tractor pull in comparison. Since we dont know the marketing costs of either I’ll make the claim that the UFC spends way more, why else would they need to borrow 500 million dollars? Yea dummy to spend on promotion idiot!”
The 500 million dollars was for international expansion you dumb fuck! Not event production. Also, I find it interesting how you claim boxing gets bigger sponsorship money. Maybe Pac/Mayweather do. The problem is, they aren’t the entire sport. You think every Top Rank fight has massive sponsorship money like them. Not to mention, if you brought this up, go look up what Mayweather/Pac production/promotion costs are. They are astronomical. They throw tens of millions into just promoting the fight, Zuffa never does that. Plus, as you guys love to point out, the headlining fighters in the UFC make far less of a cut than boxers do. Haha. Can’t have it both ways dummy.
6. “typically a building will get 10 to 15% on merch or there is a cash buy out. Merch can be big money. All depends on cost and inventory. location and region will dictate merch sales. I doubt the UFC is covering its bills with T shirts.”
Yeah, act like you knew this. Here is your quote from one of our past arguments:
“D i will take popcorn and beer sales into consideration when I look at an event from now on you forgot parking too. ”
Thanks for taking my advice.
7. “you never mentioned the tickets till now yea right another scumbag scalper figures. what to you think IE means dummy .”
Because we weren’t discussing tickets idiot.
And if I’m another scumbag scalper, obviously I know what I’m talking about. I pointed out stubhub, you didn’t, dummy.
By the way, the real scumbag scalpers are the one’s who use illegal software online to move up in line and buy up all the tickets. I was not one of those. It was just a small side job I had.
8 “Unless you are the insurance agent and have read the UFC’s deceleration page and seen a certificate for an event you are playing with your little dick thinking you know anything about what their policy is worth and the specifics. Once again you show your ass. Is the UFC self insured? I doubt it but they could be up to a certain amount, ha we don’t know fool.”
I never said I knew the specifics for the event, I was just aware they had to pay out insurance. You weren’t.
9 “yes I dont know what the deals are abroad and neither do you its private you idiot. Anyone can say anything and say any amount and so can FOX nimrod private deal The FOX deal isnt what you think. so you think a third world TV station with people that dont have toilet paper are going to pave the way for the UFC to get out from under? UGh you are so naive.”
Well, another thing you just proved you are an idiot about is world finance. You exaggerate Brazil’s economic structure. They are ranked 7th in terms of gdp and although their per capita gdp is only 79th, they still do not have the conditions you imply for the most part. Their per capita gdp has doubled in the past decade. They have a very large working class. They have one of the fastest growing economies in the world. As a matter of fact, I do business with a number of people in Brazil and what I have found (which you obviously know nothing about) is that their import tax is astronomical. Now, why is it astronomical and what does that mean? Well, the import tax is that high because they don’t want most notably, Western products dominating their marketplace. The reason for this is because for one, Brazil doesn’t need them, because their production is very self sustainable, and also because they don’t want the US/West manipulating their banks/economy. I predict we see an attempted CIA coup within the next decade to get those import rates down and get the world bank/imf back in there. Brazil is much better economically than you are aware of and the deal Zuffa has with Globo is huge. They are drawing tens of millions in viewers.
“I just picked apart all your supposed issues which you claim I know nothing about! You still havnt explained how electricity a simple basic thing that anyone with production experience would know. Waiting? if you are so schooled with the Biz of mma and events you would have no problem detailing it”
Haha. You picked yourself apart. Delusions of grandeur. You don’t even know basic tax information and you get your information from “collage”. Haha. Talk about lack of experience. That plus all of the other completely ignorant things you’ve stated above, just show how much of a colossal moron you are. You emphasize how everything I say is an estimation, yet you have no problem with making your own estimations left and right. If you really followed your own bullshit philosophy, you would just say, I don’t know any of these figures, yet you do the opposite. I guess whenever it is convenient for you.
I did answer it. Event producers for shows like this cover every part of the production in the venue.
Go ignore those quarterlies and pay 50% income tax per event. Laughable.

I dont even read your response you are an ass clown It will be interesting to see what The UFC does after 2014 and what their plans will be for 15 and 16 if they are even around.. Try somewhere else son we arnt guying the BS I wonder what their monthly nut is paying back their loan and what the interest rate is ouch!! Labor tax
sales tax
capital gain tax
state fees, which is in sense a tax there are dozens of these!
payroll tax
There are plenty more it adds up
Also some states have and event fee that is a tax
there are all kinds of fees and hidden taxes
Tax on utilities
Tax on fuel for generators
their is a broadcasting fee in some place
there are fees to use certain radio frequencies in some areas
Tax on alcohol
tax on food
All the fees to state officials like fire and inspectors is a tax
I can keep going but you only want to believe what you know little about
No doubt in my mind it could come close to 50% in fees and taxes

“I dont even read your response”
Yeah, it shows in your ignorant replies. Maybe if you bothered to read what someone else says, you wouldn’t appear to be such a fucking idiot all the time.
What is funny is that you weren’t aware of those taxes when you made your petty, pathetic breakdown of the taxes initially. You were specifically discussing income tax. Go back and read what you said. Holy shit, you are a fucking idiot!! Maybe you should start to read. And no, your dumbass is still wrong, even in a state like California that taxes you to death, the taxes come no where near 50%, even though you were talking about income tax first.
