MMA Payout has learned from Nielsen sources that Bellator MMA Live 118 received an overnight rating of 701,000 average viewers with a peak of over 1 million for the Joe Warren-Rafael Silva main event.
Despite the NBA Playoffs, the 1.022 million viewers is the fourth time this season the peak has surpassed the 1 million viewer mark. It also brings the overnight peak average to 947,889. The overnight ratings viewership went up to 685,556.
Payout Perspective:
The uptick in ratings is a good sign as Bellator seeks momentum heading into its first PPV in a couple weeks. The peak viewership is in part due to the main event (an interim title fight) but it could also be that fans are interested in Joe Warren which should be beneficial for the future.
