As fall is right around the corner, MMA Payout takes a look at the combat sports pay per views to look forward to through 2013. The bottom line is that fans will be digging into their pockets for some extra money this fall.
The below is a list of major PPVs occurring through 2013. The prices are in HD, because we know you like the best, and its the only way to watch these live events.
Date | Event | Price (HD) | Comment |
August 18, 2013 | WWE Summerslam | $54.95 | Punk v. Lesnar is the MMA tie-in here in the company’s second biggest PPV of the year. |
August 31, 2013 | UFC 164: Henderson v. Pettis | $54.95 | Will we see a redux of The Showtime Kick? |
September 14, 2013 | Showtime PPV: Mayweather v. Canelo | $74.95 | The biggest boxing PPV in years with the biggest price tag. |
September 21, 2013 | UFC 165: Jones v. Gustaffson | $54.95 | Two title defenses on this PPV featuring best P4P fighter. |
October 12, 2013 | HBO PPV: Marquez v. Bradley | $54.95 | Last two fighters to defeat Manny Pacquiao meet here. |
October 19, 2013 | UFC 166: Cain v. JDS III | $54.95 | The trilogy to decide the Heavyweight title. |
November 2, 2013 | Bellator PPV: Rampage v. Tito | $35-$45 (est.) | Alvarez-Chandler real main event here. |

November 23, 2013 | HBO PPV: Pacquiao v. Rios | $69.95 (est.) | Look for this PPV to be bumped to $75. Its Pacquiao’s attempt to stop 2 fight losing streak. |
December 28, 2013 | UFC 168: Weidman v. Silva | $54.95 | The rematch everyone is waiting for plus Rousey-Tate should bring company a show close to 1 million PPV buys. |
If you purchased all of the PPVs you will be spending approximately $575.50 (assuming Bellator PPV on high end at $45.95) in addition to your cable bill.
Even with FS1 and 2 showing free UFC fights there are lots of interesting UFC events plus some boxing PPVs to look out for this fall. Marquez v. Bradley may be the sleeper card as it’s a PPV that will be based on Marquez as the main draw.
Chris says
Why on earth is the Manny/Rios PPV 70 bucks? That shit aint worth it. Should be same price as UFC and WWE PPV.
Jason Cruz says
@Chris: It has not been officially announced but last fight was $70 and I doubt that it decreases.
Sampson Simpson says
Chris continues to menstruate. Boxing has a higher class audience
aintitthetruth says
Henderson vs pettis should be 30. Id wager that silva weidman does less than the gsp and cain card. the only two worth buying. Dunno about jones but gustaf is gonna be blown out of the water. cain jds and gsp hendriks actually look competitive on paper. ufc needs to price their ppv according to who the headliners are. 45 for the bellator card would be an outrage.
aintitthetruth says
Theres also a large hispanic following to boxing. that’s the idea of ufc playing up velasquezs roots. i don’t think that push worked so well. pretty soon hispanics will be the majority and guess what they will still watch?? Boxing.
Chang says
Broner-Maidana in the works
Nov. 9 on Showtime pay-per-view
http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post/_/id/4977/broner-maidana-in-the-works
My prediction
Mayweather v. Canelo 1.7-1.9M buys
Marquez v. Bradley 300K buys
Broner v. Maidana 250K buys
Pacquiao v. Rios 550K $69.95 (est.),650K $59.95 (est.)
Chris says
It shouldnt be 70 though, its def not worth it. Fight isnt that big and Manny isnt what he used to be. Should be a 60 dollar PPV.
Floyd can charge 75 cause he is worth it and thats a monster fight, Manny/Rios is nowhere near that. Dont think that Manny/Rios PPV is gonna do big, I think GSP PPv does more buys for sure.
Sampson Simpson says
How petty of somebody to pass on a PPV due to a mere
$10 dollars. Seriously… beyond petty.
Christine is petty
Chris says
Chang, think Floyd/Canelo does 2 mill plus
Manny/Rios is like a 700k buy event.
JMM/Tim B 300k might be right.
I think you are off with Broner though, I dont think they gets 250k. I think thats a sub 200k PPV. Thats really a Showtime fight not a PPV.
Tops of says
Mommy won’t give him the extra 10 dollars haha
Sampson Simpson says
She’s an idiot. Just one of the most petty, unlikeable creatures I’ve ever come across.
A sniveling baffoon.
BrainSmasher says
Pacman should be fighting for 29.99 since he is coming off crap fights and on the way down. Mayweather should fight for 29.95 since he ducked Pacman!
$10 isn’t much money for the few boxing fans left. They don’t have many expenses and they draw a good check from Social Security. I mean if they dont spend it then it will be left to the retirement home when they pass on in a few years.
Sampson Simpson says
Hahahahaha! Pacquiao-Marquez IV was Fight of the Year and dominates any MMA freakshow sideshow manhump exhibition ever at anytime in the history of that putrid cess pool.
Tops of says
Another no basis highly emotional statement from b.s. hahaha….coming from a fanboy of a low paying sport…..
BrainSmasher says
Apparently you are the only one watching fighters paychecks. However, I watch the fights. What they get paid has nothing to do with the product on the consumers end. Have fun paying $75 to watch two one deminsional losers hit each other with pillows! Hahaha! I would t even call it a sport. Just two uneducated street trash bums who can’t count their money to begin with.
Tops of says
Haha…hatin on boxers again….street trash bums who can’t count? They can count….but with millions of dollars they hire an accountant for that…hahaha…for UFC low pay, fighters don’t need an accountant…easy to count chump change…
Sampson Simpson says
This is wonderful to see BS kill herself with her own statements.
BrainSmasher says
MMA fighters don’t need a lot of money. Thety are smart and can make due with what they have. Boxers on the other hands make millions and always end up broke. So what good does it do them? Yeah they can keep they gangster buddies in the drug trade and end up in jail with ti while they have it. But in the end its all gone and nothing positive come from it. Do you want me to name the boxers who have made tens or hundreds of millions and went bankrupt? Look at some of your “genius” boxers have even had to resort to begging to fight in the UFC. Because they are desperate for that “Chump Change”.
Tops of says
MMA fighters don’t need a lot of money hahaha…..dead argument….Tim Kennedy,Munoz, volkman etc…..and btw you say MMA fighters should stop complaining about theyre pay….lol
BrainSmasher says
I said need. Just because they want more money doesn’t mean they need more money. I can quote boxers scuffing at $10 million. Does that mean they are under paid too? Human nature is to always want more. Unless you are a low life hippy. Then you just want everyone else to have less. Those guys are smart. They don’t need the money but realize they are in a position to try and get more. They are manipulating guys like you who support them when pay issue has become trendy. They don’t need it and they may not deserve it. But part of being smart and good business is taking advantage of an opportunity.
But the fact is they accepted their contracts with open arms. Not a single one of them was in a drawn out contract negotiations. I don’t remember Tim Kennedy in the media for 3 months saying “We are close”. Don’t jump all over an offer then piss and moan to the media like a child who didn’t know what he was doing. You cant get what you don’t ask for. Once you have come to an agreement with someone. It is a scumbag move to drag them through the mud. If I have a budget for a construction and a contractor accepts it. How can he piss and moan at me for being cheap? When he shows no sign there was an issue? That’s now how civilized people do things. IF he wanted to do things right and be credible. He should have turned down the contract and then pissed and moaned in the media. But greed wouldn’t allow it. He didn’t want to lose that money.
Tops of says
So zombie and weidman dosent and majority of fighters don’t need money?haha……and now you determine as well if they need money or not…hahaha….zombie getting incredibly low pay and Munoz needs to,work 2 more jobs…it’s called a need….
BrainSmasher says
I don’t have to determain anything. I know what a need is and know there’s are met. Munoz chooses to work a second job for the same reason I choose to work over time. Not because I need more money but because I want more money to buy shit I dont need. I would also hope for your sake that his second job isn’t coaching or teaching in the gym. I wouldnt call that work.
Tops of says
Hahaha….how would you say that you and munoz have the same reason?Munoz said:
Those fight bonuses become very critical to a lot of us. We’re not like other sports where we can solely focus on MMA. The sport is just too young for that for all of us to just be athletes. I’m a fighter, a gym owner and a personal trainer.
You should respect what Munoz says ….because that’s his opinion and reason…
You just can’t say we have the same reason/working overtime etc…
That’s disrespectful,controlling….and being a Dana…..stop being a Dana….. Hahaha
BrainSmasher says
That’s BS and you know it. That isn’t a job. That is his business venture and investment. Something he choose to do and doesn’t have to do. You do realize just about every player in the NFL and NBA have other business too? Many of them own night clubs or restaurants or gyms. It is their choice and not because they have to work a second job. They are also paid for autograph signings. Maybe Tom Brady can cry to the media that the NFL pays to little that he has to work a second job making appearances, signing autographs and doing commercials.
It is smart for Munoz to try and make as much as possible and build a gym for when he is retired from fighting. But to act like he cant live on what he makes is a lie. All the money in the world isn’t going to keep him from trying to run his own gym. Complacency isn’t healthy. Its good to always be trying to strive for success. That’s why the rishest people in the world are still trying to create or run successful business and make more money. Its why rich athletes open their own business. To act like this is a sign Munoz is under paid is beyond stupid.
Tops of says
Again why would you even compare it to nfl and nba….UFC is a low paying company…it’s an insult to compare salaries of big league sport to the UFC…..
Investment? To be a personal trainer? So Tom Brady will be a personal trainer as well…
Don’t call it b.s…Munoz said it is he’s job….
