Updated Fight Master DVR +3 ratings for Episode 4 show a bump to a 607,000 viewer average according to information obtained by MMA Payout. The initial ratings for last week’s episode scored only 505,000 viewers.
The 607,000 average represents a decline of more than 200,000 viewers from last week’s DVR +3 ratings.
Payout Perspective:
We just wrote last week that the Fight Master series was picking up momentum. And now it takes a step back this week. Even with its DVR +3 ratings, it did not reach the average live viewership of last week’s episode of 676,000 viewers.
Zuffa has enough talent to coast on for a long time. D1 champs and golden gloves champs are a dime a dozen but the money just isn’t there. i mean bubba is coming along but that’s one guy and it will take him awhile to start getting at least a 50/50k contract from ufc. In the meantime there is always joe riggs.
Basicallt i meant that no one gives a damn about joe blow/riggs be it bellator or ufc tuf style shows.
The only fighter Bellator has that is any good is Jason Butcher. He will win the Middle Weight tournament. He should be in the UFC right now imo. I hope he doesn’t sign any stupid contract that sticks him with Bellator that he cant get out of.
Bellators champs and contenders. could give ufc guys a run for their money. like dave jansen for instance i fully expect him to beat chandler. ever since he switched from teamquest to sports lab he had been getting good individualised training rather than twenty guuys in a room tripping over one another. Being an anonymous fighter isn’t the same thing as not being talented. the ufc were fools to not bring dave over.
Give it time and people will want to start seeing Bellator champs fighting UFC champs.
It happened in Strikeforce and it will inevitably happen here.

I believe Gyms are one of the most over rated aspects in MMA. Don’t get me wrong. It is important to get with someone who knows the proper way to train and have some good guys around to spar with. But there are tons of gyms who have that. All though the history of MMA there have been big name gyms. All made big names by a single fighter or two and then dissolved when that fighter is past their prime. Because the gym never created anyone to begin with. The athlete makes the gym. Not the other way around. IF you have the ability. You don’t need to pile into the latest trend gym. Most fights are won with physical ability that cant be tought anyway. Gyms come and go. Hammer house, Lions Den, Team Punishment, MFS, Chute Boxe, BTT, ATT, any of the Gracie camps, Extreme Couture. All at one time were at the top in MMA and considered the best Gym.
I think Greg Jackson is the lone exception that stand out from the rest. Not because he creates fighters either. But unlike the other gyms. He realizes he cant ride the guys who created the gym until they are has beens. So he in a way turns his back on the old guys to focus on more new guys. Diego and Evans were pushed out while he turned his attention to Jones and GSP. Jackson is always bringing in top guys that were made some where else to stay at the top and keep his gym from fading with its fighters.
I cant believe someone of the money some of these guys will spend on a training camp. I personally do not think it makes that much of a difference. You have JDS who paid 100K for his first Cain fight camp. Then you have entry level UFC fighters going across country to join a popular expensive gym(where they wont get the time of day) just to train for a gym training at his local YMCA. Some of these guys are putting to much weight into where they are training. I can under stand someone rasing their training cost and moving up to bigger gyms as they move up the ranks of the UFC. But I haven’t seen any gym turn chicken shit into Chicken salad. Not everyone can train at the same gym. Bottom guys shouldn’t be paying their entire purse to train at a big gym. There are tons of guys who not only make it to the UFC but have success while training in their local neighborhood gym. If you need Olympic level training partners to beat a guy training at “Van by the River training center”. Then you probably are not that good. I see so many guys acting like they are buying a victory and I don’t think it is necessary.
That’s my rant for the day.

LOL you are fool. Hammer House was still a MMA team jackass. At one time Coleman and Randleman were at the top of the game and guys were coming from all over to train with them. I know its not a gym. In fact I believe they were using a High school to wrestle in. You can watch 5 minutes of the Smashing Machine and know he doesn’t have a official gym. But it was still a fight team. My point still stands. None of these Teams or Gyms(same thing) are creating fighters. You either have it or not. If you do then any top 100 gym will go. If you don’t. Then no gym is going to make you a bad ass. Most fighters are better off skipping the big name gym for some more personalized instruction.
BTW, most Teams back then were not the same as Teams today. There was few if any gyms that had everything under one roof like today. Hell, now everyone has everything under 1 roof. Even lower level MMA fighters have full blown MMA gyms. No one had cages in their gym back then and few had top level trainers of each style. Way to make a fool of yourself!
