The Wrestling Observer reports that Spike TV’s MMA Uncensored received the best ratings of the shows history with an average viewership of 696,000. The ratings boost come on the heels of a time change for the show up to 10pm ET/PT from 11pm ET/PT.
The guests on MMA Uncensored featured King Mo Lawal and Dave Batista. Ironically, two pro wrestlers (recall King Mo is doing both MMA and wrestling) assisted in the MMA show’s best rating. Of course, King Mo helped the show with ratings with his last appearance as well. The show’s average prior to this past week’s high was 567,000 viewers.
Payout Perspective:
Was the time change or the guests the reasons for the ratings hike? Maybe it’s a little of both. Frankly, I do not consider MMA Uncensored “must see TV” but Lawal (and maybe Batista) are interesting guests. If the show can continue with good guests in its new time slot it can add value to a burgeoning combat sports lineup on the network.

well going on earlier def helps ratings as does Mo and Batista but I think coming on after TNA also helps. TNA is one of Spikes highest viewed shows, dont they do 1.5 mill viewers? So coming on right after that, keeping some of those viewers imo is the biggest reason.
Those viewers normally leave to watch something else, some might not come back an hour latter at 11pm, having it air right after TNA is a main reason.
