def. Dustin Neace: $8,000

Payout Perspective:

Bisping made $275K to show and $150K for his win bonus. Is anyone else surprised that Bisping makes a base of $275K? Its more than Nick Diaz or Jon Jones made in their last fights (although its not clear if Diaz or Jones received a piece of the PPV buys). Perhaps its due to Bisping being a TUF alum and his appeal. He is a fighter that most either love or hate. He definitely is getting a main event salary as compared to others.

Bisping does seem to be overpaid. From a purely competitive standpoint, he reminds me of Cheick Kongo: someone who really puts a beating on most midtier competition, but can’t seem to get a marquee win when facing fighters near the top of their respective division. Bisping makes far, far more money than Kongo, and it must be due to his ability to draw large gates overseas. What other reason could there possibly be? He’s not a PPV draw, and despite his polarizing nature he’s not a big draw at the gate stateside.

I wonder if any portion of that $275k is realted to payment for coaching on the recent TUF series, especially when Sonnen was pulled off. Maybe it was make-good for him still doing TUF and not haviong a marquee fight that would have been PPV. Good for him though.

Nope, because it’s the same amount he made for his last fight at UFC 127.

Must be good to be Bisping.
Made $425k and now with fight against Maia will make another $275k-$425k (if he wins and has the same 150k win bonus). That would be 850k in 2 months!!! plus any backroom bonus.
All without being on a PPV.

I can’t believe these small salaries!!. Are you serious? These salaries or facsimilies thereof, are a mere pittance of remunaration…..THESE GUYS ARE BEING EXPLOITED!! HOW ABOUT A FADERAL INVESTIGATION??? .I can’t believe most of these guys go into the ring for a mere $16,000…..By the way, what goes with these bonases??
…….This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard…………THIS WHOLE THING IS PEAKING MY INTEREST………When will you post the PPV 140? …..I like to see the salaries that were paid to the fighters, including Mr. Jones………….If the gate generated $3.9million……how much did PPV GENERATED? I would like to see how much Dana White, et al, made………JUST REMEMBER DANA, ET,AT, ONLY PUTS-UP SOME MONEY….Whereas, these fighters put-up broken limbs. IE….legs, arms, broken ribs etc…………………HEY, WHAT ABOUT THAT FEDERAL INVESTIGATION?????????? Tks for listening……romolo….

    Addendum to Romolo catalano

By the way, who decided to call these payments to these athletes/competitors ..SALARIES? ..Salaries are defined as follows: “A fixed compensation “periodically” paid to a person for “Regular work or services” ……The amounts paid are not periodical…..THEY ARE ONE TIME PAYMENT…..AND AT BEST, I SAY AGAIN, THEY ARE MERE PITTANCE …Tks romolo

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
