MMA Weekly reports that UFC 138 held on Saturday night on Spike TV garnered an average of 1.8 million viewers. The tape delayed broadcast finished first in its key demographics of men 18-34 and 18-49.
Overall, UFC 138’s household rating was a 1.2.
Via MMA Weekly:
The UFC’s last trip to England, which was also tape-delayed, was UFC 120 in October of 2010. UFC 120 drew an average audience of 1.9 million.
The promotion’s last numbered event to air on Spike TV was the UFC 122. The tape-delayed broadcast from Germany drew 2.2 million viewers.
Payout Perspective:
Overall, a pretty good showing considering the fights were on tape delay, the lack of marquee names and the fact that it ran up against the biggest college football game of the year (so far), LSU vs. Alabama. This card seemed destined to be one for the stalwart UFC fan. The wins in the key demos are good for the UFC and this was done with little promotion as most of the focus was on the UFC on Fox this Saturday.
