UFC 132: $2.3 million gate

July 12, 2011 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

MMA Junkie reports that UFC 132 officially drew an attendance of 13,109 for a gate of $2.3 million. About 5,000 tickets were comped and an additional 787 tickets went unused.

USA Today adds that the UFC sold 58% of the tickets available. In comparison, UFC 132 sold more tickets than UFC 130 which headlined Rampage Jackson Memorial Day weekend. UFC 132 also did better than the UFC 125, the UFC New Year’s night show featuring Edgar-Maynard II.

Payout Perspective:

We speculated here whether Faber-Cruz could carry UFC 132. It looks as though the numbers were decent compared to other PPV cards held in Vegas this year. Aside from Silva-Belfort, UFC 132 was probably the best card in Vegas this year. It was an exciting card and displayed what the smaller guys could do on a PPV. In addition, an Ortiz win and several knockouts didn’t hurt.
