Very solid ratings for a series with very solid fights. Could it be that more people are tuning in for good fights than for “reality” drama? I hope so. I would take that as a sign of a maturing audience and that can only be good for the sport. Well done by Zuffa to get some good fighters in the series after the fiasco that was last season. I hope they continue this trend.

It seems like a common trend that the audience builds as it gets closer to fight time. I don’t know if that was the case in other seasons but I like that it’s the case here. People should be drawn to the show for first for the fights and second to get to know the fighters – if you’re into that sort of thing. It seems like that’s happening.

Pretty much all tv shows get stronger throughout the show. The TUFs have always gotten stronger leading up to the fight. Live fights on Spike get stronger as the event runs. Most sporting events are like that. You can say its due to word of mouth in some cases like a excingt fight or people just happen to tune in later for what ever reason. But most of the time ratings get stronger. BUt when a show sucks ratings can drop if you are turning people off and cant hold their attention. But a good show or event should get stronger or maintain. Not so much of fights being more popular than the Drama which im sure they are but not for everyone and thats more than likely not the reason here.

That’s too bad. I was hoping it was more significant.
