Total Disclosed Payouts = $713,000

Submission of the Night: Clay Guida ($50,000)

Total Disclosed Payouts = $200,000

Payout Perspective

According to our records, the $713,000 in disclosed payouts is the most the UFC has ever paid out for a UFN-type on free television. However, Zuffa has made a practice of not disclosing payouts overseas, where it’s not required to, so its difficult to say whether this includes all free television events like UFC 75 , 89, or 105 that aired on SpikeTV.

The $200,000 paid out in disclosed bonuses is the most the UFC has ever paid out for any free event on television.

Very interesting, considering that their gate was only $568,125 , but you figure Versus may have compensated the UFC pretty well to give out bonuses like that. If not, then I am sure they don’t mind taking a short loss to achieve their long term goals on Versus (NBC Sports).

Cost of putting together an event like the one on Versus probably sits around the 2 million mark. These things aren’t cheap to put on. All things considered i doubt the UFC lost money on this one as they would have received a nice sum of money from Versus plus all the advertising money they make on the side. The big win is getting on another channel, one which they hope will become NBC’s “ESPN”.
