MMAPayout.com has learned that Frankie Edgar and Ricardo Almeida will be hosting a series of instructional seminars at a local New Jersey gym this week; the proceeds from which will be donated to help the citizens of Haiti recover from the devastating earthquake that killed over 200,000 people last month.
Edgar is known within MMA as the lightweight fighter with a heavyweight heart, but he’s also known within the New Jersey MMA community for his generosity. “What happened in Haiti was very sad and tragic,” Edgar told MMAPayout.com. “I’m privileged to be able to participate in this seminar to help the people of this torn country.”
The native of Toms River, New Jersey is 11-1 as a professional (6-1 in the UFC) and will take on BJ Penn for the UFC lightweight championship at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, April 10th.
