Payout Perspective:
The holiday season is typically the time of year where MMA does its best – both at the gate and on PPV – and reduced spending levels could pose a threat to the PPV buyrate and live gate monsters that we’re used to seeing near Christmas.
It’ll be interesting to see how the UFC fares this holiday season. Not only will they have saturated the market with 3 UFC PPV events in six weeks to end 2009, but they’ ve also expanded their merchandising through action figures, video games, and further clothing extensions in the last 12 months. Will the organization continue to buck the down economy and deliver further results in its best year yet?
Something to keep in mind.
