SUN Launches New National MMA Series With FAME USA

February 20, 2009

DALLAS, TX–(Marketwire – February 20, 2009) – SUN Sports & Entertainment, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SUNR) announced today it has signed an Agreement to produce up to six Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Events in 2009 for FAME USA (www.FAMEUSAEVENTS.com), a series of events showcasing the elite natural and drug-free athletes of the country, starting on May 8th, 2009 in Houston, Texas.

The first leg of the tour, FAME USA’s Lone Star Weekend, will feature some of the country’s most exciting natural talent in a myriad of events including: bodybuilding, fitness, figure, bikini, step competitions and all-star coed cheer and partner stunt challenges. For the first time, mixed martial arts will be part of that line-up and FAME USA Presidents Jason Powell and Kai Miranda hope to make it a permanent fixture with the organization.

SUN President Clyde Gentry III stated, “Mixed martial arts competitors are world-class athletes and they will feel right at home with FAME USA. This is a great co-branding opportunity for ART OF WAR and the crossover market for both fans and sponsors is limitless. After meeting the management team of FAME USA, and seeing the real passion they share for the FAME USA series, we hope to add that extra spark with our MMA events that will take place the second day of each two-day affair.”

FAME USA President Jason Powell, a martial artist and professional bodybuilder in his own right, commented, “We are very excited to include MMA in our line-up of events because our market is their market and vice versa. When we look at the growth of our business, MMA has organically become a natural fit and we know our fans will appreciate it.”

After the FAME USA’s Lone Star Weekend (May 8-9, 2009), the series is tentatively scheduled in the following cities: Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Atlanta, GA; and New Orleans, LA.

“With the crossover market and the nationwide platform, we are reviewing different broadcasting vehicles and have had numerous new sponsorship opportunities,” said Gentry. “We hope to build on this relationship with FAME USA for years to come to making it the number one bodybuilding and fitness competition in America.”

SUN Announces New MMA Event “Battle of the Shield” Featuring Police Officers vs. Fire Fighters

DALLAS, TX–(July 1, 2008) – SUN Sports & Entertainment, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SUNR) announced today a new Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Event titled “Battle of the Shield” (www.battleoftheshield.com) featuring Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, (DFW) Police Officers vs. (DFW) Fire Fighters to benefit the 501-C3 Charity, “Fallen Heroes Family Support Fund.”

The MMA Charity Event will feature active duty members of Police and Fire Departments who will be fighting as amateurs in the inaugural “Battle of the Shield.” Police Officers and Fire Fighters have met before in Boxing and Hockey, but this is the first time they will collide in Mixed Martial Arts, “the fastest-growing sport in the world.” Craig Ferguson, a Murphy, Texas Fire Fighter and Charity representative, stated, “We’ve had so much interest from department personnel in doing an MMA event and I’m very excited to see it come together, especially for raising money for such a great cause.”

“Battle of the Shield” is scheduled to take place at the NOKIA Theatre (www.nokiatheatredfw.com) in Grand Prairie, Texas on Saturday, October 11, 2008, and will feature over 10 amateur MMA bouts. Combatants will train in area MMA gyms and through seminars. Fighters will compete by skill level, weight, age and height to make for the most competitive matchups.

Laura Carman, Director of “Fallen Heroes Family Support Fund,” said, “This is a fund that was created in 2005 to support the families of Texas Fire Fighters who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. We support grief counseling, college scholarships and immediate bill paying for the families. If you have ever been helped by a Fire Fighter or Paramedic, or know someone who has, take a minute and think back to the courageous work they did. Now that the charity has expanded to include Dallas/Ft. Worth Area Police Departments, this is the perfect event to bring awareness to the cause and really help some families in need. I can’t thank the Police Officers and Fire Fighters enough for their dedication, and for participating in Battle of the Shield.”

Art of War To Syndication

June 17, 2008

Sun Sports & Entertainment announced today an agreement with American Television Distribution (www.americantvd.com) to license a four show series of “ART OF WAR” Events (2-hour specials) into 40 of the top syndicated TV markets.

American Television Distribution, which currently licenses CHEATERS UNCENSORED, STAG and BILLIONAIRES CAR CLUB worldwide, will license the ART OF WAR name brand to local affiliates of FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, MY TV,The CW, etc. across the United States scheduled for September 2008.

“ART OF WAR” features many popular MMA stars including: Pedro Rizzo, Jeff Monson, David Loiseau, Justin Eilers, Jeremy Horn and Alex Andrade. Those within the company feel the deal will raise the company’s profile as it looks to possibly relaunch its’ brand:

“Syndication will introduce the ART OF WAR brand to a broad audience across the country,” said Clyde Gentry III, Chief Operating Officer of SUN. “With the MMA space continuing to grow, it will give us an opportunity to increase our fan base.”

A deal like this gives truth to the old maxim that content is king. With the wealth of television and online avenues of distribution, there is always a need for product to move through those pipelines. On a similar note, however the IFL ends up, look to see their back catalog of fights for quite a while as someone will look to purchase the library and exploit it if the company goes under.
