Bellator draws 598,000 viewers on Paramount, 169,000 viewers on CMT Saturday

May 1, 2018 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Bellator 198 drew 598,000 viewers on the Paramount Network Saturday night according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily  It added an additional 169,000 viewers on CMT.

The event featured Fedor Emelianenko taking on Frank Mir in the first round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix.  Fedor stopped Mir in the first round in a short, but exciting fight.

Bellator faced stiff competition from live boxing telecasts on Saturday with three events going on the same night as Bellator.  There was also an NBA Game 7 and NHL Playoffs on Saturday night.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings are an increase over its regular event telecasts but it shows that Fedor is not a draw as he once was as the Bellator casual fans have fallen off.  I’m not sure if this would be considered a tentpole event, but Fedor used to be a big attraction.  But, 598,00, or 767,000 viewers overall if you want to be generous is not the type of ratings you would be hoping from this event.
