Tibau provisionally suspended for claimed USADA violation

December 5, 2015

UFC fighter Gleison Tibau has been provisionally suspended by the UFC after the organization was informed by USADA of a potential anti-doping policy violation.

Tibau last fought at UFC Fight Night 77 where he defeated Abel Trujillo.  Notably, the victory, a submission stopped by the referee, was protested by Trujillo.  He indicated that he would appeal the decision.  It appears that he may not have to now.

The UFC released a statement on Tibau’s suspension. A portion of it is below:

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has notified both Gleison Tibau and UFC that he has been provisionally suspended due to a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition test.

There was no indication when the test, resulting in a potential violation took place before or after Tibau’s fight.

Tibau becomes the second UFC fighter provisionally suspended due to a potential violation of the UFC’s anti-doping policy which went into effect July 1st of this year.

Payout Perspective:

Unlike Crop Cop, who retired once the news of his failed test became known, Tibau, 32, is still in the middle of his fight career.  This may mean the American Top Team fighter may look into appealing this decision.  Cro Cop was issued a 2 year ban by USADA for the admitted use of hGH.  While it’s uncertain what Tibau’s infraction may be, 2 years for admission of a banned substance may be cause to appeal the decision.

This chump finally got caught hes been juicing for years he should be done. the ufc should just cut a fighters for using steroids its just wrong. The same goes for the weight cut you should fight at the weight they walk around at naturally. Instead of cut 20 or 30lbs and rehydrate. Making it much better for the fighters health and life.
