TUF 20 Episode 6: 500,000

October 31, 2014

The 6th episode of TUF 20 on FS1 which aired this past Wednesday received an average viewership of 500,000 viewers.  The episode went up against Game 7 of the World Series on Fox.

In the fight of the show, Aisling Daly submitted Angela Magana.  Arguably, there was a questionable standup by the ref which negated a potential submission attempted by Magana.

TUF 20 Ep 6 Live

Payout Perspective:

Magana had one of the sadder backstory’s on the show and it was a disappointing loss.

As for the ratings, going up against Game 7 in any sport would draw most sports fans away from anything else.  Still, the A18-49 demo remained relatively flat (345,000) in comparison to the average over the season (346,000).  The World Series on Fox scored 23.5 million viewers which was the highest rating for the 7 games.  Of course, going into Game 7, it was on pace to be the lowest rated series and least-viewed ever.

“Still, the A18-49 demo remained relatively flat (345,000) in comparison to the average over the season (346,000).”

Baseball has no effect on these ratings look at how consistent they are throughout . Also someone mentioned in another thread avg. age of WS viewer is 56.

Is the BULLshitSpitter going to come out and verbally lash me on how great these ratings are and how TUF really is the next Amazing Race in disguise?

At least the Delusional one knows his place and has realized he can’t spin TUF like he does PPV.

  2. The Greatest on November 1st, 2014 4:24 AM

Most sports fans were gonna watch Game 7 even if they didn’t watch any other game the whole year.
I was in a hotel that day and a lady walked by with her friend and said to her “Whats the score, I don’t watch sports but I love things like this”

When regarding MMAs viewership. People who actually watch this TUF bullshit tend to be hardcore fans. They watch the shit everytime its on and tend to be the type of people who scoff at team sports because they were not coordinated enough to catch a football.

ah so the ignorant man appears again and still doesnt understand how reality television works LMFAOOOO

just last week TUF episode 5 in that primetime slot had an 111% increase over the FS1 primetime average that week

it just keeps going and going and going……….. in all viewers throughout the entirety of the day (last week) TUF episode 5 was 254% past the average!

you know what that means right? nobodies watching FS1 but suddenly, like MAGIC, when TUF comes on the viewership damn near quadruples

buy why oh why are we talking about LSD numericals?!?!?! you really are stuck on stupid LMFAOOOO

very dense as well and im curious as to why you ran from our previous conversation, hmmmm? LMFAOOOO

  7. FightBusiness on November 1st, 2014 7:35 AM

The ratings of a reality show mean little. How many people are going to sit down and watch a bunch of no names punch each other in the face? PPV buys and fights on TV are what really matters. MMA wont go away but people really dont care that much either.

  8. saldathief on November 1st, 2014 7:53 AM

TUF proves that the UFC has no real fan base anymore. More people watch youtube videos then the ufc Tuf numbers continue to fail and disappoint Tuf numbers are a decent gage as to how the rest of the ufc is doing. It proves my point that there are less then 1 million mma fans that support the sport seriously more like a few hundred k fucking pathetic !!!!! So much for being big and mainstream.. D has no clue what mainstream is or has any sense of reality and never actually taken a normal western crap in a real toilet. So what the fuck does D even know about anything other then google and wiping his filthy ass with his hands. hahahahaha you can only spin failure so far.

“The ratings of a reality show mean little.”

its good for keeping the Brand of the UFC ( plus sponsor deals and some ad revenue) out there plus a weekly fight
in the future there will be two fights per episode with 2 concurrent tournaments held in a winners bracket and a losers bracket

    winner gets the biggest contract
winner of losers bracket tournament gets second contract and from there you pick and choose who you want from that particular season and theyll get a Neil Magny style contract

Sal is proving once again that he is a gay minion for dirty Bob Arum. His homosexual tendencies and poor hygiene are alarming the viewers and writers at mma payout. We would appreciate it if you took your odors and gay trolling effort elsewhere.

  12. LeonThePro on November 2nd, 2014 3:44 AM

@BullShitz No I always got it, but what’s good for a channel doesn’t necessarily translate to what’s good for the UFC and it’s growth. I’m sure the owners are real happy about TUF numbers compared to what they used to be on other networks.

  13. LeonThePro on November 2nd, 2014 3:47 AM

Looks like D got his chin checked, he’s got nothing to say. It’s good, he was out of line there for awhile. 100% of his posts are trolling with absolutely zero input to this thread.

Still running away from your bullshit prediction of 2015 equating to 2014 injuries and ppv buys?

  16. LeonThePro on November 2nd, 2014 8:10 AM

D your trolling so hard you have to make things up now? I have yet to give a real 2015 prediction, I simply stated the fact that it’s possible injuries could remain = or > than 2014, that is all.

Unlike your concrete prediction of 6 M ppv buys, then back tracking two posts later to a concrete 5 M ppvs buys.

  17. saldathief on November 2nd, 2014 10:44 AM

D has no chin, no balls and is a pathetic internet looser, paid blogger ,who answered one of those ” make money on the internet” adds. That being said he is desperate, his free fight pass is in jeopardy and the promise to leave filthy India and come America is now just a wet dream. The ufc is having its worst year ever! and the future looks bleak. D will be posting on charity sights begging for clean water and a toilet for his filthy family.

  18. d on November 2nd, 2014 5:30 PM

Leon the Schmo, you disagree with yourself:

“No, this isn’t something that is just happening in 2014 – it’s a sign of things to come.”

” In no way shape or form, are injuries guaranteed to be any LESS in 2015.”

Nice try you coward of completely backtracking. You didn’t say it was possible. Your quotes above prove you are full of shit and contradicting yourself.

I never backtracked from my statement of 6m buys. I still believe they will hit that number. My point was that if we are going to bet based on your analysis that the injuries will continue, why would I have to make 6m. I acknowledge that there is a possibility that they do somewhere in the range of over 5m but less than 6m. But if that is the case, it is only because they didn’t have the star power to sell the fights, not because of injuries. 5M buys is a big number. You know this, which is why you are pussying out from taking it and backtracking all over the place from what you initially said, you cowardly, cock sucker.

  19. d on November 2nd, 2014 5:33 PM

Saldaqueef is a boxing paid faggot, who sucks Bob Arum’s cock on a daily basis and wears adult diapers because he is a wheel chair bound, type II diabetic, geriatric. He contributes nothing to this site.

All he does is spew bullshit that his delusional brain manufactures and acts like a homo with weird obsessions of India. He smells like Oprah’s ass and he is a paralyzed bacteria trap.

  20. LeonThePro on November 2nd, 2014 5:58 PM

That’s a real lol for DForDelusional and his gay fetish. Your first quote, that I said, was regarding the downfall of UFC ppv and I stand by that. It’s not coming back any time soon.

But if you stand by your belief that it will do 6m buys, then you should have the balls to bet that. Like I said… you don’t, and you got chin checked for your bullshit. You came up with a number FIRST, not me, so you should back that up. Next time close your mangina before you say something you regret you mark.

“what’s good for a channel doesn’t necessarily translate to what’s good for the UFC and it’s growth. ”

uh…… whats good for the channel DOES translate to whats good for the UFC and its growth. later down the road there will be a rights fee increase for this exact reason. whether that happens during the exclusive negotiation period or out on the free market (UFC will use a combination of both in the future)

fucking mls received a rights fee increase of five FUCKING times their previous deal and they were averaging FAAAAAAAAR UNDER the channel averages

their fucking world cup game, the biggest game of their season, did 505,000 viewers!!!!!!!! and yet they STILL ROCKETED past the minuscule erstwhile deal (18 million)

so what do you think is gong to happen when the time comes for the UFC to negotiate?

  22. saldathief on November 2nd, 2014 8:25 PM

The UFC tests for drugs with its fighters and they test D for a vagina bahahaha D has no leg to stand on and sits down to pee. It must be a rough existence never being able to get over being sexually abused your entire life. Maybe one day D will save up enough bottles to be able to come to a western country and actually crap in a real toilet and take a bath. D has gay issues, and secretly hates gays because he probably is one. Don’t worry D its ok to be gay in western counties that are civilized and not filthy barbarians like your fellow family members. 6 million ppv hahahahahahah yea like never. Boxing looks good to double suck on that dick D!!

  23. d on November 2nd, 2014 10:28 PM

Nice try Leon the schmo, you were addressing what was to come in 2015 and you very clearly stated that the injuries were going to be the same that they were this year. Now, when I called you out on your bullshit, you are backtracking like the chicken shit you’ve always been.

“But if you stand by your belief that it will do 6m buys, then you should have the balls to bet that. Like I said… you don’t, and you got chin checked for your bullshit. ”

If you stand by your belief that the UFC will have the same amount of buys next year that they did this year, you should be jumping all over the bet of 5m. You see, here is where you are clearly full of shit- you and I both know if they hit 5m, it will have nothing to do with injuries. It will prove that the ridiculous injury issue that took place in 2014 was a fluke and thus debunks your entire moronic argument, which you, yourself have altered a number of times because you are too stupid to follow your own delusions. You know now that you were full of shit with your prediction which is why you bitched out of the bet. No surprises though because you argue like a woman anyway. I notice you are now stealing my mangina jokes, you are shameless.

  24. d on November 2nd, 2014 10:31 PM

One thing the ufc does not test for are people that smell like shit, urine and hot dogs, which Sal would hit the trifecta for.

  28. LeonThePro on November 3rd, 2014 12:17 PM

Nice try delusionalD you failed many times now and have been caught with your foot in your mouth. We should call you dfordoubt since you don’t really believe the ufc will be as successful in the ppv realm as they once were. Your flip flopping just proves that.

You better be careful flip flopping like that because your lack of faith in the UFC might get you fired from your blogging duties. You might have to look for work convincing ppl the WWE is real. 1.5 cents per word.

  29. d on November 3rd, 2014 1:00 PM

The only person caught with their foot in their mouth is the guy who is clearly backtracking from his point that the injury level would stay the same in 2015 that it did in 2014. You can try to spin it anyway you wish, but the quotes are there and you can’t deny what you said. You are just a moronic coward, who realizes he was dead wrong and is doing everything he can to distance himself from his own quotes. Idiot.

“We should call you dfordoubt since you don’t really believe the ufc will be as successful in the ppv realm as they once were. Your flip flopping just proves that.”

There is no flip flopping what so ever. I believe they will hit 6m next year, and at the very least, they will without question hit 5m. The difference between 5m and 6 m buys will not be injury related, it will be star power related. Your whole analysis is it will be injury related to the degree of 2014, which is absurd which is why you are running away from your statements. 5m ppv buys is a very good number, in 2012 they did 5.8m buys, they didn’t hit 6m. That alone proves your idiotic theory wrong. Do the math idiot.

You better be careful, you are neck and neck with the ultimate troll Sal right now for biggest troll on this site. You have to keep up the pace for Schaeffer so you can collect that welfare to work check like Sal does.

  30. LeonThePro on November 3rd, 2014 3:08 PM

I said it’s plausible injuries would stay the same – not guaranteed, you misconstrue things as usual. Too busy trolling UFC forums your getting mixed up with your posts.

I see your lack of confidence in the UFC and I’ll take it. If you really believed they would do 6m you never would of never even mentioned 5m right after.

0 injuries or 20, 5M for for 2015, dont think so… I’ll take the bet, your on. Don’t bitch out on me now, DForDelusional has a nice ring to it hah!

  31. d on November 3rd, 2014 4:00 PM

HAHAHA!! You can’t run away from your bullshit idiot. I’ve got the quotes:

“No, this isn’t something that is just happening in 2014 – it’s a sign of things to come.”

That is what we call a smoking gun.

Then after that, you proceeded to tell me over and over again how this was going to be standard because of the watered down expansion. Are you seriously going to continue denying this you idiot?

I’m not 100% confident they will hit 6m, I believe they will, but not with absolute certainty because they may not have enough big matchups like they did in 2013. I do know that they will not have even a fraction of the injuries they had this year which was the entire purpose of your idiotic theory(which of course you’ve altered left and right because you are an idiot who is full of shit). I am positive they will hit 5m, which still backs up what I have been arguing from the beginning with you which is that injuries will not be even remotely close to how bad they were in 2014-ie, your entire argument.

Okay, so we are on, I’ll gladly take the 5m and when they hit 5m, I know you will pussy out like the cowardly piece of shit, boxing paid fruitcake troll that you are idiot.

Coming in 2015….Leon the Schmo. HAHAHAHA!!!

You just make excuses for bad business. Theres a lot more reasons why PPV is in the gutter other than injuries and we shall see in 2015. DForDelusional here we go!

  36. d on November 3rd, 2014 5:35 PM

Well, according to you the amount will not fluctuate. You claimed this level of injuries would continue due to the watered down product, now you are again altering your theory and linking it to training. Total moron.

The biggest reason was the injuries which you have acknowledged. Leon the Schmo, I can’t wait!!!

The first 2 months of 2015 is going to blow you out of the water. It is going to be very amusing:

    Weidman vs. Belfort
    Cormier vs. Jones
    Silva vs. Diaz

Those 3 alone are going to come close to 2m buys.

  39. LeonThePro on November 4th, 2014 5:06 AM

D’lusional you are so fucking dense its unbelievable. You actually think and compute like a robot, pretty sad. I can add/subtract/adjust to my thoughts as much as I want. We do not all post essay style 1000 word posts that cover every detail that no one gives a shit to read.

I’ll tell you like it is, but I know you’ll have a hard time computing – UFC ppv is in the toilet due to a combination of reasons, one (of many) of which is injuries. Its not as simple as UFC is having a bad year (only because of injuries) and will bounce right back. This is where your wrong, and shows your lack of judgment in business. There is much more going on to bring the PPV #s down, and there is also an after-effect this type of injury year has on fans and the brand. This is where our bet comes in.

  40. d on November 4th, 2014 8:11 AM

“I can add/subtract/adjust to my thoughts as much as I want. ”

Thanks for acknowledging you’ve contradicted yourself left and right here Mr. Schmo.

I never said it was solely from the injuries, my point was that this was a ridiculous fluke of a year when it came down to the amount of injuries which was the PRIMARY reason the numbers were so low. If they had a standard year of injuries, they still would have hit 5m even without Silva/GSP or any huge names, but with nearly every major fighter going down with some sort of injury, the numbers were way down from normal which they will go back to in 2015. The only people who can’t comprehend this are moronic boxing trolls who realized they were caught in a bullshit contradiction and continue to pathetically backtrack from there statements.

Coming in 2015…..Leon The Schmo!! HAHAHA!!

Oh shit and it starts already, haha. D is fucked.”

Or for anyone else in the world that can read the full article, you should have focused on the top of the article that has been circulating that says this:

“Fortunately, his condition is not considered serious and his Nick Diaz fight is not in jeopardy.”

How pathetic of a straw grasp attempt. Nice try moron.

Go back to Richard Schaefer’s basement where he sodomizes you, ya little homo. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

  44. LeonThePro on November 5th, 2014 4:19 AM

Even if, and that’s a big IF, these fights all happen as planned. 2M buys… highly unlikely.

As for being taken to the hospital for back pains and paralysis, 12 weeks before your fight, only the D’lusional one (who has zero judgement) could see that as a good omen.

  45. d on November 5th, 2014 6:12 AM

Hahaha. You are the man of many delusions.

    My quote:

“Those 3 alone are going to come CLOSE to 2m buys”

    Your interpretation:

    “2M buys… highly unlikely.”

Now, these 3 could definitely do 2m, it isn’t highly unlikely, it is very possible, but I wouldn’t guarantee it because you never know. I don’t think there is any question that the Weidman-Belfort fight should do at least 550k buys, and very well may do more because Belfort is a better seller than Machida was. Then you have Diaz-Silva which even though isn’t for a title has two guys who can sell a fight, I don’t think there is any question this fight should do in the 500-600k range. And the Jones-Cormier fight will without question be the biggest. A lot of people want to see this one because people know Cormier can beat Jones and they did a great job hyping the fight. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this did 700k-800k buys.

More delusional statements from the Schmo:

“As for being taken to the hospital for back pains and paralysis, 12 weeks before your fight, only the D’lusional one (who has zero judgement) could see that as a good omen.”

Where on earth did I say or imply it was a “good omen”? I just literally quoted a statement made by the author of that article which you ignored that pointed out the fight was NOT in jeopardy. You are an Apocalyptic moron.

By the way, something you are missing which goes to show how much of an ignorant moron you are and is going to lead to you losing this bet easily is the fact that all of these big fights that were scrapped this year are going to happen next year, not to mention there are big matchups as I already pointed out on paper for next year, plus St Pierre will most likely be back for a title fight against MacDonald in late 2015 which will be held in Canada and the world will erupt there.

    Coming 2015….Leon The Schmo!!!
