Payout Perspective:

The Friday night summer series did considerably better than its kick off last year when it received just a 480,000 viewer average.  Of course last summer Bellator was on Wednesdays.  It turns out that Bellator has settled into Fridays and have experienced success by staying on the night.

Good ratings for a low profile headliner. Goes to show you mma is the fastest growing sport!!

Pretty good ratings compared to the UFC which regularly pulls in lower numbers than this.

Disregard what I just said I’m having an identity crisis. I’m a pretty dumb guy.

a success? this event pulled a .25! LOL hell, fucking rat bastards had better ratings and was pulled from primetime after TWO fucking episodes!

the only thing “saving” (if you can call it that) them are the so called “trade outs” and thats not much money at all especially for a show pulling numbers like this

when advertisers are done with their current deals they WILL NOT resign
but really they might be paying a pittance to bellator anyway and think its worth it i suppose

and if numbers keep going this way theyll resign for even less

gurantee you Glory Kickboxing starts pulling more ratings than Bellator inside of one year. Real men fight standing up. Not like little girls on the floor. People fight on the floor because they cant strike and because people keep being told to learn BJJ

Fightbusiness, you are an idiot. You know nothing about mma and you just proved it.

  10. Fightbusiness on June 10th, 2014 8:33 PM

D- How am I an idiot? How can you call it ground game when you say ” and by the way dont kic me down here, bite me, grab my balls, dig your heels in my kidneys” I think rues are needed but rules make the ground game pointless. If you want to penalize a grappler you do the above mentioned and he’ll get off unless he’s a master grappler. By the way Glory is already peaking at 800,000 views and they have no stars that the public knows.

without the ground game in MMA we would see mostly shitty stand up fighting! Give me a break 90% of MMA guys suck ass on their feet so thank god for the ground lol

  12. D on June 11th, 2014 3:15 AM

You are an idiot because you don’t comprehend the relevance of the ground. Everything you state is what a person who had very minimal comprehension of the sport would say.

    “Real men fight standing up.”

No, real men fight Vale Tudo, without a referee to break them up and help them get back up if they slip or get knocked down. That’s much closer to MMA than it is to kickboxing.

Its a simple equation that I doubt D will admit, even with the numbers. Most people dont want to watch ground fighting! They want to watch stand up! Any decent stand up fighter is a Boxer! not a low paid MMA fighter. More people watch Stand up boxing then MMA fact! People boo at fights that spend too much time on the ground. Only a few hard core fans who are involved in wrestling and bjj give a rats ass about the ground its too hard for the average person to understand. One of many mistakes and underestimates the ufc has made. BJJ was huge at the inception of mma those 20 min lay and prey fights were pathetic. If ground fighting was popular we would have had competitive wrestling be a major sport longer then boxing. Notice how the Gracie’s have no family MMA fighters that are any good, they have dozens of sons and nephews and they all suck at mma. Fighters have adapted and overcome the BJJ dominance that lasted for a short period.

No, it is an ignorant philosophy that board breakers and boxing trolls are delusional about. People who understand the sport like all aspects of the fight. Only the morons who think mastering the demo or wearing 1 ten oz glove can be effective in mma don’t get it.

  16. saldathief on June 11th, 2014 9:24 AM

Apparently the numbers speak louder then what the UFC feels is entertainment lol
What’s a demo? dont be mad that the UFC has lost about a million fans since 2006 gee why is that dick boy? UFC has been losing fans not gaining them sad sate for MMA

  17. D on June 11th, 2014 10:31 AM

Haha. Like you don’t know what a demo is. Your world revolves around it.

Don’t be mad that the foot fist and boxing didn’t work out in mma the way you would have liked it to, sensei mullet!

    What is a sad sate?

  20. D on June 11th, 2014 8:36 PM

Haha. Yeah, a thumb wrestler. You’ve never stepped foot in an mma gym in your life. You were breaking boards when real wrestlers were actually training.
