Bellator 113 takes a dip: 507,000 viewers

March 25, 2014 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

MMA Payout has learned from Nielsen sources that Bellator 113 on Friday night received an average viewership of 507,000.  However, it did peak at 871,000 viewers.

The main event featured Emmanuel Newton winning a split decision over Attila Vegh to unify the Bellator light heavyweight championship.

  •         Bellator MMA – 110  880,000, overnight; 1.1M Peak
  •         Bellator MMA – 111  653,000, overnight; 964K Peak
  •         Bellator MMA – 112  699,000, overnight; 1.037 Peak
  •         Bellator MMA – 113 507,000 overnight; 871,000 Peak

Payout Perspective:

The dip in the ratings is likely due to NCAA Basketball on Friday night.  Notably, last year, when Bellator aired on Spike on Thursdays opposite the first week of NCAA Basketball it scored 748,000 viewers.  Of course, it had TNA Impact Wrestling as a lead-in (which did 1.3M viewers).  The 507,000 is a significant dip from this season’s momentum.  We will see how it will fair during the sweet 16 this Friday.
