Logan Paul’s Prime sues Ryan Garcia, boxer apologizes

May 28, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Logan Paul’s energy drink company, Prime Hydrate has sued Ryan Garcia after the boxer made alleged defamatory statements in social media about Prime. Garcia recently apologized although the lawsuit is still ongoing.

Prime filed the lawsuit on May 23rd in federal court in Texas alleging that Garcia defamed the company among other legal allegations. Garcia has made several inflammatory social media posts in a war of words with Logan Paul. He claimed that Prime made him test positive for Ostarine, a banned substance. Garcia’s drug test after his fight with Devin Haney in March came up with Ostarine. Recently, his “B-sample” also include Ostarine.

Garcia also claimed that Prime caused seizures in children. An egregious claim which he bolstered by adding that nurses had told him of the issue.

The lawsuit states, “…Garcia has gone far over the line. He is intentionally using his platform to make false and defamatory statements to damage Prime while promoting his own brand and business.”

Prime has sent two Cease and Desist letters to Garcia advising him to stop the conduct and remove the social media allegedly defaming Prime. Garcia has not. The first is a letter dated March 14, 2024 and is sent to Garcia’s manager, Guadalupe Valencia.

However, in a recent podcast, Garcia apologized and drank a bottle of Prime. A last-ditch effort to kill the lawsuit before Garcia has to hire lawyers to defend it? Probably. Maybe a part of settling the case will be Garcia doing a commercial for Prime.

Payout Perspective:

While Garcia has made out like a genius with his antics prior to the Devin Haney fight, he may find himself in some hot water for his accusations of Prime. I think this case will settle but it’s a cautionary tale not to take social media beefs up a level.
